Just wondering, is there a specific nusach or group who switches the final bracha in Sim Shalom/Shalom rav? I see Oseh HaShalom in some siddurim in parentheses (as an option) but the ArtScroll has it connected to “BeSefer Chaim…”

I believe the Gra’s nusach was Hamvorach es amo Yisroel BaShalom.

the thinking is one is not allowed to change the matbeah shetavu chachmim. Not sure why and who changed the shmone esreh for aseres yemei teshuvah.

So what is the basic minhag Ashkenaz?

I think the old minhag ashkenaz is Oseh Hashalom. Check your Rodelheim siddur. Then the question is why so many ashkenazim don’t say it that way.

Rodelheim has Oseh HaShalom which is what I used to say. I switched because every Ashkenaz shul I’ve davened in doesn’t change from the regular ending.

Probably for the same reason they say L’david mizmor before aleinu at maariv on the yamim noraim. They adopted other minhagim. If you’re a yekke, stay a yekke.
