February 28, 2011 5:16 pm at 5:16 pm #745164em0616MemberHere is a halacha shiur in English from Rav N. Kaplan shlita on this subject:

February 28, 2011 6:57 pm at 6:57 pm #745165charliehallParticipantThere seems to be some misunderstanding of the process sequence. When you open a can, you aren’t creating a kli, you are opening a kli that existed before the food was put into it after which the kli was sealed with a metal lid which was manufactured separately.
February 28, 2011 7:18 pm at 7:18 pm #745166me tooMemberLogic for Issur: Once the lid is soldered the can become a ??? ???? and is no longer a Kli.
Excepted from http://www.etzion.org.il/vbm/archive/yomyom/g/g47.php
?????? ??? ?????? ??????? ??????? ??? ?”???? ???” (??”? ?”?, ??), ???? ?? ?????? ????. ?”???? ???” ????? ?????? ???????? ???? ????? ?’???’ ???? ??????, ??? ??? ????? ??? ????? ??? ???? ?????? ??. ???, ????? ????? ??????? ???? ???? ?? ????? “????” (?? ?????? ???? ???), ?? ??? ???? ?? ????? “????” – ??? ???? ?? ?????? ?????? ???? ????? ????? ??????? ??. ???? ?”????? ??? ??????” (?’, ?-?) ???? ????? ????? ???? ??????? ????? ????? ??????? ???.
February 28, 2011 7:49 pm at 7:49 pm #745167☕️coffee addictParticipantcharlie,
when is it considered a finished product, before or after the lid is put on it
I’m sorry Gummy Bear that everyone is hijacking your post, which was supposed to be a humor post instead of a halachic one
February 28, 2011 8:49 pm at 8:49 pm #745168mewhoParticipantaw cmon, u gotta be able to kibbutz too!
February 28, 2011 9:44 pm at 9:44 pm #745169Gummy BearMembercharliehall: I sort of meant drinks cans, not pickle cans…
mbachur: A bit of both (humour/Halacha) is nice:-)
February 28, 2011 11:26 pm at 11:26 pm #745170scoop_90210MemberJust put a lit on it
