ouch!! However, I get your point so I’ll try to improve.
By the way, I am well over whatever the minimum posting age would be.
September 16, 2011 2:30 am at 2:30 am #810666Queen BeeMemberOh, did you ever try CI (rhymes with kitchen raiders)? I played all 4 of them. They’re kind of addicting, but I think it might be girly.
September 16, 2011 11:23 am at 11:23 am #810668ToiParticipantnerds. k there i said it.
September 16, 2011 2:04 pm at 2:04 pm #810669MiddlePathParticipantQueen Bee, wow, your new computer is really good! It’s a desktop, right? The ATI Radeon cards are really good, might even be better than nVidias, at least for gaming. My card is made more for 3D production software than for gaming.
Yeah, there are some good new games coming out soon that I’m thinking about. There’s a new CoD, a new “callout”, and a brand new game I’m looking forward to called Nuclear Dawn, which is supposed to blend FPS and RTS. And about CI, it might be a little girly…maybe if it was zombies and werewolves instead of chickens…lol.
Toi, yes, I admit it.
September 16, 2011 2:14 pm at 2:14 pm #810670YW Moderator-80Membercould you explain to me, if you know, why are there so many games that involve zombies?
September 16, 2011 3:17 pm at 3:17 pm #810671MiddlePathParticipantGood Question, 80. I really don’t know for sure, but it’s possibly because everyone gets a thrill from fighting zombies, so it probably sells more than a game where you fight, say, vampires. (Though I’d totally be into that, too.)
September 16, 2011 3:19 pm at 3:19 pm #810672Queen BeeMemberZombies are in now. Used to be vampires and werewolves. They also make great horror-type games. Best thing to kill 🙂
September 16, 2011 3:28 pm at 3:28 pm #810673wanderingchanaParticipantTums: OOT is NOT lifeless. Perhaps those who are OOT don’t need Tums so much because of the quality of living.
September 16, 2011 3:29 pm at 3:29 pm #810674Queen BeeMemberSeptember 16, 2011 3:42 pm at 3:42 pm #810675MiddlePathParticipantOh yes, the horror-type games are usually amazing! Especially at 2 am with the volume up…incredible atmosphere!
And L4D is quite a stomach churner. Although, so is PK-OD and I actually really liked that one.
But really, that whole game type isn’t my favorite. My favorite type is the Fantasy RPG. Less violence, more fun.
September 16, 2011 4:13 pm at 4:13 pm #810676Queen BeeMemberOoh, PK-OD looks a little creepy, but in a cool way!
I thought I was picky, but I guess I’m not with games. I think I could play almost anything and love it.
Am I the only girl who plays games?
September 16, 2011 4:51 pm at 4:51 pm #810677MiddlePathParticipantI’ve never played RoM..I didn’t know it was free! I’m gonna try it out, when I have some time. Thanks for bringing it up! About STO, while I like Sci-Fi, I never really got into it for gaming.
And yeah, PK-OD is extremely creepy, especially the Orphanage and Asylum levels. My skin was crawling!
And you aren’t the only girl who plays games, I know a few other girls that also do. I don’t think it’s as common as guys, though.
September 16, 2011 5:45 pm at 5:45 pm #810678Queen BeeMemberI’m not crazy about the whole ST franchise, but I do love some of the elements, and I love STV, although of course it’s not as popular as the other ones. I’m not that much of a geek 😉
September 16, 2011 8:46 pm at 8:46 pm #810679MiddlePathParticipantK, thanks, I’ll definitely check out RoM! And I just noticed you love the NE specie in WoW…I knew that would be your favorite 😉
If I remember correctly, I was a human paladin.
Haha, Carmen Sandiego! A classic. I grew up on Doom, Wolfenstein, Duke Nukem, Whiplash, Sonic, and a bunch of others I can’t remember.
September 16, 2011 9:58 pm at 9:58 pm #810680Queen BeeMemberWow, MiddlePath! This is so weird–Wolfenstein and Doom were some of my favorites! My brother liked Duke Nukem, but I never got into it. I liked watching him play, though. I’d beg him to play all the games I liked until I played them myself. My all time favorites are One Must Fall, Raptor call of the Shadows, Commander Keen, Skyroads, and Life and Death 2: the brain (a surgery game). Mario’s time machine and Mario is missing. Do you still play the old games? I didn’t think you’d know them. I downloaded a program that lets me play all the old DOS games. Oh, yeah, I loved Sonic, too. I play some on the “me”.
How did you know my favorite is the NE? Because I’m a girl? My character (a girl :P) is a NE mage. I once wrote a story on the NE, lol…Nerd.
Lol, Wolfenstein…I miss that! Maybe I’ll play it again soon :).
September 18, 2011 1:17 am at 1:17 am #810681tickle toe eitusMemberqueen and middle: how old are you (if i may ask)?
btw, are you guys talking about the original wolfenstein 3d (for dos) or the newer windows game?
wolfenstein and doom are from like the early 1990’s! (almost 20 years old…)
are (or were) any of you into nes, snes, etc?
September 18, 2011 7:04 am at 7:04 am #810682MiddlePathParticipantQueen Bee, I loved Skyroads! Some other old games I played that I forgot to mention are all the Sims games (Sim City2000, Sim Farm, Sim Tower, Sim Town), Nightmare 3D, TMNT, Heretic, Ninja Rabbits (I loved that one), MYST. There was also some game I can’t remember the name of where you were a little troll with a yoyo as a weapon…do you know what I’m talking about? I loved it.
What program lets you play the DOS games? I’d love to play those again. And yeah, I had a feeling your favorite was the NE because all girls want to be the NE (cuz that’s the prettiest character), no? Maybe I’m generalizing :). That’s funny that you wrote a story on the NE! I’d love to read it..maybe you can post it (If the mods let)? I won’t laugh, I promise! And yeah, I’d love to play Wolfenstein again. I loved how at the end of the game when you are walking out of the castle the screen turns around and shows you running and then jumping and yelling “Yeah!!” Lol.
tte, I’m in my lower 20’s, so yeah, we’re talking about Wolfenstein 3D, the original. I personally was never into nes, we always just had a computer (although we now have an xBox, but I don’t use it), so that’s all I really use.
September 18, 2011 12:46 pm at 12:46 pm #810683tickle toe eitusMembermiddlepath: don’t you need dos to run the original wolfesntein? how do you do it (very few of todays computers can run dos games)? and what do you like about an almost 20 year old game?
September 18, 2011 1:25 pm at 1:25 pm #810684☕️coffee addictParticipanttickle toe,
you know you can get to dos on your computer too.
September 18, 2011 2:51 pm at 2:51 pm #810685Queen BeeMemberMiddlePath, tickle toe eitus, Google “Dosbox” and you’ll see the downloadable program. Choose for Windows 7 or XP, vista, whatever your computer uses. Make sure to read the instructions that tell you exactly how to use it. If you have questions, I’ll try to answer. I’ve been using the program for a few years and it’s amazing. On my old, old computer (windows 98, I think), the sound in DOS never worked and I was so upset, but with Dosbox the sound works for almost all games.
MiddlePath, I’ll be back to answer your post.
September 18, 2011 3:08 pm at 3:08 pm #810686☕️coffee addictParticipantbtw, if anyone’s interested i have a really old computer that runs on DOS yet you need real floppy disks to do anything with it
September 18, 2011 3:39 pm at 3:39 pm #810687tickle toe eitusMemberi’m interested. how can we go about it?
September 18, 2011 4:13 pm at 4:13 pm #810688☕️coffee addictParticipantlol tickle toe,
idk, I don’t think the mods would let you give out your contact info.
September 18, 2011 5:55 pm at 5:55 pm #810689Queen BeeMemberSome more DOS (and early windows) games I played: Zorro, Hocus Pocus, Jazz Jackrabbit, Word Rescue, Math rescue, Blake Stone, Fox Ranger. Skunny Kart and Wacky wheels were the first racing games I ever played
September 18, 2011 7:56 pm at 7:56 pm #810690☕️coffee addictParticipantI played castle, wheel of fortune, bill &ted’s excellent adventure, Indiani Jones, Jeopardy, where in the world is carmen sandiago, where in USA is Carmen Sandiego, tetris, pacman, space invaders, math blaster
September 18, 2011 9:49 pm at 9:49 pm #810691ToiParticipantthe only dos game thats kidai is liero. we got it onto my yeshivas computers. awesome.
September 19, 2011 12:21 am at 12:21 am #810692Queen BeeMembercoffee addict, I also played wheel of fortune and jeopardy, pacman, carmen sandiego. Fun games 🙂
Toi, never heard of it, so it must not be that awesome 😛
September 19, 2011 1:04 am at 1:04 am #810693☕️coffee addictParticipanti loved how the charecters made faces when they won or lost
September 19, 2011 2:10 am at 2:10 am #810694MiddlePathParticipantQueen Bee, I never really got into the lore of WoW, I just played it. I only started playing it like 5 years ago, so I didn’t grow up on it.
And I also played Wheel of Fortune, pacman, math blaster, Oregon Trail, Tetris..but those were more “relaxed” games. I liked the “serious” games more!
And Queen Bee, I just got Dosbox, and I just started Wolfenstein 3D again! I don’t have so much time to play it, but I’ll do what I can. It’s so funny, the graphics are so horrible, but I love it anyway!
September 19, 2011 2:22 am at 2:22 am #810695☕️coffee addictParticipantOh and Bad Street Brawlers (that was a funny game)
September 19, 2011 4:56 am at 4:56 am #810696Queen BeeMemberYeah, I started playing Wolf again. Even though the graphics suck, there is something oddly compelling about it 🙂
