I read something recently that really gave some good advice about how to help children. Rabbi Horowitz mentions that kids need to learn to understand the hebrew language instead of knowing by rote, so they can learn better. It’s can be overwhelming to memorize so much by rote but not really know the stuff. But when you understand, it stays with you better.
Also mentioned about making home a place kids like to be in because otherwise they might become distant later.
