What do you think Obama’s terms as POTUS will be most remembered for?
The ObamaCare disaster, with skyrocketing premiums, delayed markets, and the infamously unkept promise of “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor”?
Race relations souring all across the country, causing riots and police assassinations?
The never-ending Great Recession that has lasted all of Obama’s time in office?
Obama’s “Lead from behind” mantra that has led the USA to retreat from the world?
The rise of ISIS and their ilk?
Tensions with Netanyahu and Israel?

2. Trying to usurp legislative powers
3. Trying to do much and not accomplishing anything lasting
4. When there is an African American, whose ancestors were slaves, elected, that person will be remembered as the first “black” president, and Obama (whose parents were an “old stock” WASP and an African foreign student) will be a footnote.

Remembered by whom?
For the CTL family Obamacare (actually Romneycare) has been a lifesaver.
Our silver level policy underwritten by Connecticare (our insurance carrier prior to the ACA)costs us $600 less per month than we paid 4 years ago. Our 20 year old is still covered on our policy. The annual 1 million dollar cap no longer exists. Mrs. CTL spent a month on life support in ICU and has had 10 surgeries this year…amount billed approaching $3 million. Our out of pocket: $980
We did not have to give up a single medical provider and gained several previously not covered by our plan.
ACA is different in every state. The Health Exchange here in CT works well….BTW my premium for 2017 actually decreased $5 per month. The only change in our coverage is an increase to $700 deductible per person in 2017 from $500 and the family maximum deductible rises to $1400 from $1000.
December 27, 2016 4:07 pm at 4:07 pm #1208037iacisrmmaParticipantCTLWAYER: It is good to hear that you benefited from the ACA. Not everyone is able to say that.
IMHO, Obama will be remembered as the first African-American President who came into office with relatively little experience and even after eight years did not learn on the job. He will be remembered as a Democratic President whose party disintegrated under his leadership.
While his domestic policy may be remembered in a better light, his foreign policy will be remembered for serious flaws bordering on ineffective, including what is happening in Syria. His latest move regarding Israel and the UN will never be forgotten.
December 27, 2016 4:57 pm at 4:57 pm #1208038MosheFromMidwoodParticipantCTLawyer: A relative of mine is paying $20,000 on Obamacare, an increase of $5,000 from last year. Your experience sounds like the exception but also coming from an Obama lover, a little suspect
December 27, 2016 7:42 pm at 7:42 pm #1208039Ex-CTLawyerParticipantMoshe from Midwood…
Midwood is in NY. Is your relative also in NY???? The state website says “The weighted average rate increase for the individual market in New York is 16.6 percent for 2017.” So the premium increase should have been about $275 not $500.
I am very specific about having ACA coverage through the CONNECTICUT Health Care Exchange.
I am not an Obama lover, I am a Trump hater.
December 27, 2016 8:28 pm at 8:28 pm #1208040iacisrmmaParticipantCTLAWYER: as I argued with you on a previous thread…As you stated the “weighted average” is 16.6%. Is it possible that MFM’s plan is on the higher end of the averages?
Looking at the website there are plans that under “Individual” approved rate increase range from a low of 6% to a high of 80.5%.
Under “Small Group” the range is 5% to 58.5%.
So please stop using “weighted average”. It is not the average approved to each company.
December 27, 2016 9:03 pm at 9:03 pm #1208041MosheFromMidwoodParticipantYes, my relative is in New YOrk and his Obamacare plan went up $5,000 in premium, another friend of mine saw his premium rise $2,000 for the year. 16.6% is big increase.
I suggest you save your hate for the enemies of Israel.

Funny, do you also hate the Jews in Israel?
Obama just gave the OK for the Arabs to condemn Israel, by not stopping the UN!
And even as president-elect, Trump tried to stop the UN.
December 27, 2016 11:11 pm at 11:11 pm #1208043mw13ParticipantOh, and how could I forget about the disastrous Iran deal, which served only to strengthen the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism which has repeatedly expressed its desire to wipe Israel and the USA off the map?
December 28, 2016 1:08 am at 1:08 am #1208044iacisrmmaParticipantCTLAWYER: I don’t know what math you wee using (maybe Obama’s Common Core) if someone paid $15000 and received a 16.6% increase would be $3320.

I was looking at the monthly premium increase from a base of $1250 increasing by about $255. Your $3320 is $276.66 per month
January 1, 2017 1:26 am at 1:26 am #1208048Ex-CTLawyerParticipantHealth….
My hatred for Trump has nothing to do with Israel.
He beat my brother for almost $400K on an equipment purchase and installation in one of his properties. Now he has appointed a CT woman to be head of the SBA. This woman went bankrupt (Trump style) costing brother $290K on telephone system installation in her Stamford business HQ.
The hatred is personal. I had to step in and pay tuition and for a niece’s wedding because of these dishonorable people
January 8, 2017 2:21 am at 2:21 am #1208049mw13ParticipantMOLLIE HEMINGWAY, THE FEDERALIST: Obama is absolutely delusional about what his own legacy is. His legacy can be summed up in three words, which is President Donald Trump. Americans did not vote for Donald Trump because they thought Obama’s presidency was a success. They voted for him because they thought it has been a tremendous failure. This farewell tour that he’s going on, saying he hasn’t had any scandals in 8 years when everything from their actual body trails from Benghazi and ATF, lying about the Iran deal, the IRS targeting political enemies. I mean this is just delusional.
January 10, 2017 2:31 am at 2:31 am #1208050hujuParticipantCTLawyer: Sounds like your brother’s business could use a credit analyst (which, 40 years ago, was called a “credit man”).
January 10, 2017 11:09 am at 11:09 am #1208051Ex-CTLawyerParticipanthuju…………..
he has one. In 45 years of business his non-collected receivables have amounted to less than 1/20 of 1%.
The only 2 large amounts were Trump and McMahon.
