January 10, 2016 4:38 pm at 4:38 pm #1132385YW fanParticipantwith all due respect Holala, I fail to understand what was wrong with Git Meshige. He just was wanted a clarification on what you meant when you said “nicest” singer
January 10, 2016 4:42 pm at 4:42 pm #1132386👑RebYidd23ParticipantAll of them are complete jerks.
Just kidding. All of them are very nice and friendly, but equally so.

January 11, 2016 10:19 am at 10:19 am #1132389Geordie613Participant?? ??? ???? ??? ??????? It’s all up to personal taste.
Nevertheless, I’m a huge Avraham Fried fan. I believe all his music fits the “nicest singer and the nicest CDs” of your original post.
Shloime Gertner is a very nice singer as well.
January 11, 2016 3:51 pm at 3:51 pm #1132390👑RebYidd23ParticipantI don’t have much of a CD collection, but my blank CDs are very nice and shiny.
January 11, 2016 4:03 pm at 4:03 pm #1132391👑RebYidd23ParticipantKusiel Ball is the best singer.
January 11, 2016 6:12 pm at 6:12 pm #1132392MameshhTov98MemberMario is a good plumer.

January 11, 2016 7:11 pm at 7:11 pm #1132394apushatayidParticipantheschel schwartz. a gem of a guy.
January 11, 2016 7:32 pm at 7:32 pm #1132395👑RebYidd23ParticipantThe best singer in the world is probably a goy. (Statistically far more likely. Someone will probably be offended by this, but the math doesn’t lie.)
January 12, 2016 12:40 am at 12:40 am #1132396The QueenParticipantThe “goy” may be the most popular singer, since there are way more goyim than yidden, therefore, more people will have heard a goyish singer than a Jewish singer. However, that doesn’t mean he is a better singer, just that he is a better known singer in the world at large. Famous Mark Twain quote: (Jewish) “contributions to the world’s list of great names in literature, science, art, music, finance, medicine, and abstruse learning are also away out of proportion to the weakness of his numbers.”
Chances are good that if judged by merit, a Jewish singer comes out on top.
January 12, 2016 12:27 pm at 12:27 pm #1132397white eagleParticipantAvraham fried
January 12, 2016 3:18 pm at 3:18 pm #1132398👑RebYidd23ParticipantAll else being equal, the larger group is definitely more likely to contain the best singer. And even adjusting for superiority of the smaller group, in this case since the smaller group is so much smaller than the other group, it is still unlikely that the smaller group contains the best singer.
Greater contribution to music does not make you a better singer, especially before recorded music. A person can be a great contributor to music without singing.
January 13, 2016 8:43 pm at 8:43 pm #1132399B1g B0yParticipantI think what was meant by Baruch Levine being the nicest singer was that aside from having a great voice he is also an unbelievable mensch
January 14, 2016 12:42 am at 12:42 am #1132400Geordie613ParticipantB1g B0y, you’re going a bit off topic. I’ve never met Baruch Levine, but I know Avraham Fried and Shloime Gertner are also menschen.
January 14, 2016 5:17 am at 5:17 am #1132401The QueenParticipantRebYidd23: I still think there is a good chance that a Yid is the best singer. The music in malls are stupid as can be. I never heard better than Jewish music at a doctors office either. Not counting classical, which is just orchestra music and not a singer, the best music I know is Jewish. (I don’t listen to goyish at home, but being that I live in this world I hear it everywhere…) and I sing and play 2 instruments.
January 14, 2016 6:57 am at 6:57 am #1132402👑RebYidd23ParticipantThe music in malls is not necessarily the type of music people like to listen too. It’s supposed to get you to buy stuff. And I’ve heard plenty of people just singing randomly better than the professionals. Also, the quality of the music does not necessarily reflect on the singer. Get a great singer to sing a stupid song and pick a random stranger off the train to sing a good song, and the good song is still better music.
January 14, 2016 3:06 pm at 3:06 pm #1132403HashemisreadingParticipantRechnitz and Moshe Mendlowitz have unbelievable voices, and their voices are very hartzig. That’s what I call real Jewish music.
January 14, 2016 3:16 pm at 3:16 pm #1132404☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI like most of the above (the ones I’ve heard). An underappreciated singer, in my opinion, is R’ Yirmiyah Damen of Belz. I’ve been enjoying his recordings for a long time.
January 14, 2016 3:56 pm at 3:56 pm #1132405The QueenParticipantRabbi Daman is in a class of his own, incomparable and unique.
January 17, 2016 10:30 pm at 10:30 pm #1132406Geordie613ParticipantDaasYochid & Your Majesty (although I suspect you’re not really HM QE2, you can’t really be sure with the Royal Family nowadays),
I fully endorse your choice of Rabbi Damen, the famous Belzer baal menagen. All his nigunim have emmese yiddishe taam.
