I recently noticed in some places in Borough Park even though on the meter it states 25 cents for 15 minutes I am only getting 12 minutes for every quarter. Are other areas in NYC experiencing the same thing?
The muni meters on Ave J near Nostrand Avenue were recently changed and say on the display $1.25 for 60 minutes. The street signs have not been updated. According to the NYC dot gov website the increases went into effect in Brooklyn on September 4th.
Report the meter to 311.
Parking has been 25 cents for 15 minutes in NYC for the last 30+ years. A little increase isn’t the end of the world.
Rates are going up, but I think they’ve been more that $1 an hour in Manhattan for a while.
