April 22, 2011 12:20 am at 12:20 am #780136A23ParticipantCooljude, do you have a relationship with anyone affiliated with this supermarket (or are you affiliated with this supermarket in any way)? I doubt that a regular person would be so interested otherwise.
April 22, 2011 12:23 am at 12:23 am #780137achosidParticipantwhat exactly cant you waaaaaait for?

April 22, 2011 1:30 am at 1:30 am #780138Patur Aval AssurParticipantwhat kind of name is seasons anyway?
April 22, 2011 1:36 am at 1:36 am #780139njs3215MemberAron’s still has the parking which seasons doesnt have, and arons is still bigger, but good luck!
April 22, 2011 5:01 am at 5:01 am #780140kgh5771ParticipantSeasons dropped the ball by not opening BEFORE Pesach. This was their opportunity to draw crowds in. Unless they have cut-rate prices, they have a very hard time getting a clientele because the lack of parking in the area is a MAJOR drawback.
April 22, 2011 5:38 am at 5:38 am #780141cooljudeMemberidk- i just like wen new stores open! in the ads it sed that they have valet parking and free coffee every day! cool- no?
April 22, 2011 6:21 pm at 6:21 pm #780142A Woman Outside BrooklynParticipantYesterday I got a piece of mail from SeasonsNY that looked like an invitation. It invited me to sign up for the sale alerts, but their website wasn’t set up yet. Now that’s poor marketing.
Early rumors are that it’s modeled after Pomegrante. To be honest, I don’t see how or why Queens can support a high end grocery. But they’ve had about 6 months to do their homework, so we’ll see.
In my opinion, Aron’s is not as good now as it was when it first opened. Their meat and poultry are not so great in my opinion, and I find the layout of the store disorienting.

April 27, 2011 5:22 pm at 5:22 pm #780144April 27, 2011 5:45 pm at 5:45 pm #780145Lechayim120MemberAlthough I don’t have any affiliation with the new supermarket in Queens, I do know from first-hand experience of a Kosher supermarket that opened before Pesach and invested in a lot of Pesach products and when no one was interested in trying a new supermarket Erev Pesach, they lost a lot of money. Eventually, they closed down. So, the owners of this supermarket were smart to wait until after Pesach to open.
April 27, 2011 6:14 pm at 6:14 pm #780147zahavasdadParticipantThere was a fire in the store, The Sprinkers went off and all the stock was destroyed.
They will not open for a few weeks now

April 29, 2011 6:20 pm at 6:20 pm #780153A Woman Outside BrooklynParticipantWhat does the video show? (streaming media is blocked here, and I doubt I’ll have a chance to look when I get home).
April 29, 2011 6:31 pm at 6:31 pm #780154TheGoqParticipantit shows two men climbing a ladder and one passing containers of gasoline up to the other one, the passer had sunglasses and the other guys face you rarely see
April 29, 2011 6:34 pm at 6:34 pm #780155justsmile613Participantdid this use to be called Supersol?
April 29, 2011 6:39 pm at 6:39 pm #780156TheGoqParticipantyes it did
May 1, 2011 2:22 pm at 2:22 pm #780157mewhoParticipantterrible thing that happened there.
hopefully they will catch whoever did it
May 1, 2011 6:15 pm at 6:15 pm #780158Spoiler86MemberAfter watching the video, I have a few questions:
1) How did those 2 arsonists get the ladder there. They drove in a small black sedan and right there was a huge ladder. Either it was planned out a couple days before where they come and placed the ladder there. If thats the case, they can check the video cameras from previous days for more clues of how the ladder got there. Maybe it was planned out from with in and the ladder was left there on purpose just to get the insurance money?
2) Why wasn’t the sprinklers or alarms connected with the fire department. Most stores of that size have it directly connected with the fire department. If that’s the case, they would’ve been at the scene sooner and found the information quicker. As it is, all this was only revealed Motzei chag, about 24-30 hours later which is plenty of time for those 2 people to escape the country.
June 21, 2011 4:47 am at 4:47 am #780159A Woman Outside BrooklynParticipantSeasons opened in Queens last week, rather quietly this time.
The store is quite nice, bright, wide aisles. The staff have been very well trained and are extremely courteous and helpful. Clearly appears to be modeling itself after Pomegrante. Unfortunately, the prices are kind of high on many items as compared to the other neighborhood stores. But I’ll go back anyway because their challahs were great, and the chickens were quite good also – very clean, and a bargain last week at $1.69 per pound for a whole or quartered chicken. The trick will be to catch things when they’re on sale – but that’s what I used to do with Supersol also.
June 21, 2011 1:50 pm at 1:50 pm #780160☕️coffee addictParticipantwhere in queens is this store (kew gardens or KGH)?
June 21, 2011 7:43 pm at 7:43 pm #780161A Woman Outside BrooklynParticipantKew Gardens Hills, on Main Street and 68th.
June 21, 2011 7:47 pm at 7:47 pm #780162zahavasdadParticipantThey will not last long, They cannot compete with the parking lot at Aarons.
Unless they have cheap prices which they dont
