Depending on where on the office walls your looking, you’ll see a Shulchan Aruch, a Tur, a Frankel Rambam, a Tal Man Shas, and a Mossad Rav Kook Mikra’os Gedolos Chumash.

For seeing the positive. There are two ways to look at it.
1) The head of a Jewish government, a very public figure, has a set of Shulchan Aruch on his wall, but doesn’t follow it.
2) The way you did: even someone who doesn’t keep the Shulchan Aruch, at least recognizes its importance, to a degree.
DY: I think that from his comments after R’ Elyashiv’s P’tirah it’s obvious that your second point is true. And L’tza’areinu Hagadol your first point is true also.
