I heard Gaon summoned The Dubno Maggid to give him musser. I too am asking for musser. Today I shtyged so much that I feel “bishvili nivra haolam”, that mamesh my learning is mikayem the whole world and it was all created for me, as chazal tell me!
I need some emergency serious musser to deflate my ego and help me return to my usual midah of sincere humility.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

December 13, 2012 2:37 pm at 2:37 pm #913265ChortkovParticipantA Bochur once went to the Steipler, confessing he was having problems with Gaavah.
The Steipler looked at him and burst out laughing. “You?” He laughed. “Problems with Gaavah?”
The Bochur got the message and never had problems again.

Good. Very good.
Now try shtyging with some dry crackers, a little water on a hard cold floor at night with a candle. That’s the way our ancestors did it.
When you’re finished, you’ll know what to feel like.
December 13, 2012 10:11 pm at 10:11 pm #913270popa_bar_abbaParticipantI’ll help.
You have no idea what gaava is, and you have no idea what chazal were talking about.
I’m not sure you have any idea about anything.

It reminds me of a bumper sticker; my humility is so great all my other qualities don’t even show!

I saw your krum learning and svaras in the Gutten Shabbos thread. You have no right to be gaavadik about your learning.
There’s your musser…thanks for asking.
December 16, 2012 6:29 pm at 6:29 pm #913277uneeqParticipantDon’t be humble… you’re not that great.
