DaasYochid, I just listened to it to see what the words really are. It’s tough to make out, but it sounds like “To enrichen and liven”, not enliven.

Seeing as “enrichen” isn’t a word (at least not in English…) never heard of the song but are you sure it’s not enrich?

Now I’ve got one- my dad likes this one:

As we go on this journey that our fathers walked before us

As we go on this journey in search of the ancient wisdom…

    This one you know

And in a case of glass they put me on display

Where visitors would look at me and say,

But they knew not what was inside my heart.

DaasYochid, I listened to it again, in slow motion (where did I get that from?). I stick by what I said before – it sounds like “to enrichen and liven”.

I respectfully disagree. Listen carefully to where the “d” is.

DaasYochid, here’s a hint for my last one (which I’ll post again so you don’t have to go back a page):

You see I’m riddled with confusion

    as I witness the delusion

The tune was composed by Yossi Green, but he didn’t write the words. The album is from the early 90s.

DaMoshe: Was it? I haven’t been here for a while…Sorry :(. It just happened to be on in the kitchen as I typed.

So now an easy one to make up for it 🙂 :

“We learned in a dark, frigid cellar…”

Hey, I SAID it was easy…

(Though to be honest, I wouldn’t have guessed it before I went to camp- before that, I only knew the chorus. If I’d done that, you could have rightfully kicked me out of the thread for contempt.)

Harder one, then (or at least I think so):

“Their hearts are filled with emptiness,

    Confusion takes its toll…”

WS, THEY learned in a dark frigid cellar.

“Their hearts are filled with emptiness,

Sounds like the onslaught of posters we’ve recently had in the CR.

DaasYochid, I listened to it again, on better speakers, and I will concede this point – I now believe you are correct. To enrich and enliven.

    #1194192

    How about these…..

    1- …we hear you’re voices loud and clear…

2 – …from my comfy soft bed to the ice cold street…

3 – Hashem knows just what happened there’s no reason to deny…

I know the 3rd one is from the Marvelous Middos Machine, the Ga’avah Song. I don’t know the first two.

DaasYochid, do you want to give up on my previous one? Or do you want some more time to look?

I give up. I don’t have time to actively look, although I sometimes play my music collection in “shuffle” and could randomly come across it (if I have it).

    I’ve never heard of it.

    Here’s an oldie for you:

There is no gloom like the darkness of the lonely; there is no chill like the cold of despair. No solitude like a person abandoned for expressing a desire, his heritage to share.

I still have three unanswered ones…

working: You are referring to the beautiful song “Hishbati ??????”. The words are from Shir HaShirim

    ?????????????? ???????, ??????? ????????????,

    ??? ?????????? ??? ??????? ??? ?????????? ???

    ????????? ??????? ?????

    (??? ?????? ? ?)

It seems like this song was copmposed by Duddy Kalish and can be heard on the CD “L’Chaim Zitz – Hishbati” or just search Google for Hishbati.

London School of Jewish Song: Children of Silence. Not from the London with Neginah record, where they changed the lyrics; from a release of four songs, which , I think, was actually called Children of Silence.

DaasYochid, you shouldn’t have done that. You ignored your orders. You may have to pay a price for that quite soon…

But if this thread is to be revived – BY MY OWN HANDS! MEIN GOT!

    – then let’s do this my way (no highway option).

    Rule #1 – If it’s Googleable, don’t post it.

    Rule #2 – If it’s Googleable, don’t post it.

To avoid Googleability, instead of lyrics, you can attempt to

sound out the song’s melody. Do you accept this challenge?

    #1194209

Okay – I/ay is to be written “ai”, while A/ey is to be written “ay”. E is to be written “ee”. This should help prevent confusion. More to follow should it seem necessary and/or I think it up.

Also, anyone who can list the three references/quotes and the one(two?) decoy refs/quotes in my 1st post… has too much time on their hands.

DaMoshe, I didn’t say it couldn’t be lyrics, just that it couldn’t be Googleable!

And the only Google result for your lyric is this very page.
