I’ve been teaching for a couple of years in a well know yeshiva in Brooklyn. I started out without a degree but recently the Administration gave all the teachers a notice:

This upcoming year we will be only accepting new teachers with degrees if you are a current teacher with out a degree please look into options of earning one in the near future.

The Administration told me not to worry about my job because I am b”h really good at it and they will keep me but I still feel they are referring to me.

I having to move on with my life but stay in education.

Does anyone one of a good, fast, reliable college preferably on line. Please help me out.

    I need a degree !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most likely, the new rule is being put in place, so they no longer need to accept underqualified (but well connected) new recruits to the teachers circle.

Either that, or its going to be used as a way to ax the dead weight they already but don’t have the guts to fire on their own.

Regardless, don’t sweat it. If you have the desire to get a degree, it can only help you. If you don’t want to / can’t get one (and the school really pulls the trigger), if you’re good at / enjoy what you do, there will always be a place for you in education. Somewhere, someplace and at a rate that might (pleasantly) surprise you
