not to worry! This thread isn’t about mosequitos but it starts off with a story about one so bear with me and then we’ll get to the point of this thread.
tonight (yud aleph tishrei) I was running peacefully along when suddenly i was attacke by a mosquito. It bit me and it hurt obviously. So first thing was I hunted it down and killed, sending the message to mosquitps worldwide not to start up with me. but the bite stayed and swelled and itched and whatever and it got me thinking:
A mosquito is a tiny insect, yet look at the size of the bite. The bite is BIGGER than the mosquito itself. how is that oossible? How can it bite more than its size?
The answer is, it struck me, that really the mosquito made a much smaller bite. It injected its stinger and made a tiny hole, probably microscopic, and then MY bloodstream had an allergic reaction (plus my scratching) and caused it to swell up. Which serves as a huge lesson. Very often we think that someone or something is problematic, but really the problem lies within US within OUR reaction to it. It was a reall sobering thought and so I started running like anything. Not that that changes this matter, but it’s a hard pill to swallow, and i alwaus think better when I run.
