Many big Rabonim and local shiur givers (Check rabbi alon anava or rabbi yagen and many many more just check on torahanytime.com or YouTube )have stated numerous times how we are very possibly the generation that likely will have the zchus to greet moshiach and witness the big miracles to come! Moshiach can come in a pleasant manner full of miracles or in a very very very scary way! Once Mashiach reveals itself it will so obvious about the false world we live in (money will have zero value and we will see the sole reason for the creation is to serve hashem we will be ashamed we haven’t done Teshiva before the arrival of moshiach. Moshiach is coming regardless! The question is in what manner???? We all have a responsibility to spread the word and and wake people up so it will be a pleasant experience without killing and wars! pass the message along! no more oozhon hara and no more sins chinam! who’s in???
January 14, 2020 11:37 pm at 11:37 pm #1822921Reb EliezerParticipantבעתה אחישנה – Moshiach can come in a fixed time on the level of melech kasha kehaman to force us to unify into teshuva, but he can also come from our ahava where we bring him earlier because of our love for each other through our unity.
January 16, 2020 6:21 am at 6:21 am #1823370JosephParticipantI have a set of luggage ready and all packed with everything I need that I will grab when Moshiach comes so I can greet him and go with him to Eretz Yisroel.
January 16, 2020 1:47 pm at 1:47 pm #1823418GadolhadorahParticipantReb Yosef: Will our frequent flyer miles have an value in Z’man Moishiach. You indicate you have all your bags ready with “everything you will need”. For those of us who travel with carry-ons only, could you share your packing list so we have a good starting point. Will we need only shabbos/yom tov l’vush? Will we need certain seforim? Its a real challenge for us poishete yidden who don’t have the insights on these kinds of logistical arrangements?
January 16, 2020 1:47 pm at 1:47 pm #1823436BillyweeParticipantRelax, Moshiach isn’t coming anytime soon. Frum Jews are being attacked in NY and there’s no organized effort to work on it. Each sub-group is too busy bad mouthing each other and unwilling to give up any of their Kavod.
The Bais Hamikdash was destroyed because of Sinas Chinam. If it’s not rebuilt in your time it’s as if you destroyed it. With the level of Sinas Chinam today does anyone honestly believe Moshiach could come and the Bais Hamikdash rebuilt? Keep building big houses. The way things are today, you have plenty of time before Moshiach comes.June 21, 2020 10:54 am at 10:54 am #1874706BisBoyParticipantJoseph, how is your set of luggage helping you now? The border is closed. Haven’t brought that into consideration when packing. What do we do now?

Wow! I never thought the geulah would be contingent on the borders being closed
I guess חזל were wrong when they said moshiach can come any day
🙄
June 22, 2020 9:41 am at 9:41 am #1875045WolfishMusingsParticipantI have little doubt that once Moshiach comes and batei din are re-established, one of the first things that will happen is that I will be hauled in front of one of the tribunals for execution for my many sins.
I’m ready.

However, there is a disagreement as to whether face mask rules will apply on the flight over. I also noticed that the OP included the caveat that “we are VERY LIKELY the generation that POSSIBLY ” will greet Moishiach etc. Thus, while not questioning Reb Yosef’s decision to pack his bags I would strongly suggest CR readers consider purchasing a REFUNDABLE fare.

Sorry you didn’t have any עדים והתראה
Anyways I wouldn’t be surprised if you were on the other side of the bench

I thank you for the kind words, but I’m afraid that’s not going to be true. Even if I were qualified for such a role, I don’t think I could participate in a proceeding that would lead to someone else’s execution.

The Gemara calls a beis din that kills someone a court of murderers
I think you’ll fit right in

While I can understand why you would think that someone like me would feel comfortable with the title of murderer, I should point out that while I will accept full responsibility for sins I have committed (and Heaven knows they are plenty), I will not accept the title of murderer since it is not something I have ever done.
While you may seem to think that I might be comfortable with the company of people who are titled as murderers, whether or not I would do so is irrelevant. The fact is that regardless of the company, I don’t see myself as capable of participating in a tribunal that would lead to the death of another person.

Why are you automatically assuming that the beis din will kill someone?
(Just FYI this is post moshiach)

I’m not. But with each capital case, it certainly is a distinct possibility. I’d rather not risk it and there is no halacha that says that I have to serve if asked/accept if appointed.
