How can we become a moderator? Just curious….that way I have an excuse to spend a long time on YWN!

It seems to be a pretty full time job. So what do you tell your family/friends what your occupation is? That you are in kollel???

Being that this is not my job, I don’t have to lie. That is except to my boss on why I’m being unproductive. What am I supposed to say? There was a serious back and forth on the basics of Judaism and the (Yeshiva) World needed me!

Wait a sec here… if not for all us posters… YWN wouldnt be as big of a hit as it is (I chas veshalom am not degrading YWN I am only kibbitzing with my point to follow) and therefore we should get paid as “editors” or staff 😉

How about this: In exchange for the YWN Coffee Room community keeping me to the wee hours of the morning so I can moderate your posts, we will provide you advertisements that are of interest to you. Click on them and use them.
OK listen up people and pay attention carefully (I hope the editor isn’t reading). The 6 step test to be a ((ahem)) “greeting card salesman” is grueling.
1) you can not have had a post deleted or edited (even for spelling) in your past 100 submissions.
2) you need to identify the thread and provide the screen name of 200 randomly selected posts
3) you need to be able to identify by screen name the author of 100 randomly selected deleted posts and/or topic headings
4) you will be given a list and will have to be able to quote the IP address for 100 randomly selected screen names
5) you ned to havet he abilty to read pots adn undertsand wat is rely bein said
6) you have to be able to function on minimal food, drink and sleep.
are you up to it?

the moderators usally use there their regular screen names…but when they want to look cool(or blue lol)they use moderator……..for all u know im moderator 99 or 72 or maybe im really the editor..haha you will never know…….lol
There are VERY LONG periods, even in New York time, when posts are not moderated/reviewed for extended periods of times.
This makes conversation very difficult.
Any chance of finding a few additional volunteers to moderate when the other moderators are obviously busy?
I think Joseph (is he the guy everyone is obsessed with for some odd reason?) is a fake. They probably have some usernames that they use to add flavor to the site.

i’ve been thinking for some time that joseph really isn’t one of us. maybe he’s an undercover moderator or editor? something’s fishy with joseph!!!!
Cant we just leave the poor guy alone???? If he is a mod then thats up to him to share or not…. just cuz you dont like what he has to say… he’s definitely a learned guy and we are ALL entitled to our opinions! As long as they follow the Torah of course 😉
