so last year i created this really cute mishloach manos for my teacher, thanking her for time to listen to all of my q’s and for helping me grow. I don’t want 2 say what I did because I don’t want it to be too obvious…so does anyone have any cute and original ideas that I could do this year for a different teacher of mine who is the most amazing person in this entire world? she is my mentor. I want to do a theme with a cute little quote to connect to it. I also want to give a gift to connect with it. Something like this but this is too cheapish: *Thank you for your time, and give her a clock* type of thing.
January 29, 2015 1:37 am at 1:37 am #1062095Yayin Yashan B’Kli ChadashParticipantA check. Your theme can be zeros. The quote can be,
“You’ve given me love, patience and time,
So I’m giving you gelt, with a poem that does rhyme.”
January 29, 2015 1:45 am at 1:45 am #1062096Yayin Yashan B’Kli ChadashParticipantSorry about that. My mishloach manos usually consists of a hamantash and pickle, taken off the table by the seudah, and passed around the table by everyone who didn’t give yet and was in the proper state of mind to be passing things (not that i was ;-). I didn’t have time to write a poem for it, so I never got a feel for a good and original mishloach manos. (Actually, the pickles were original. Flaums Original!)

January 29, 2015 3:42 am at 3:42 am #1062098smile101Memberthank you for responses! I was thinking more of something like this: “Thank you for helping me grow” and give her flowers…..except she deserves more than just flowers and flowers are really lame (in my opinion…)
January 29, 2015 6:31 am at 6:31 am #1062099cozimjewishMembersmile, the flower/grow theme is really cute! My sister once did a similar m”m; she made a whole candy garden – covered a box with green tissue paper, and stuck in all types of lollies/big lolly pops etc. for flowers, bushes and trees. She made stones out of some candy leading up to a chocolate house which was filled with homemade cookies. She made a stream out of blue licorice. It looked GORGEOUS! Don’t know how much time you want to spend on this though….
January 29, 2015 12:37 pm at 12:37 pm #1062100Rema711MemberU could also make a gingerbread house and have gingerbread Hamamtash inside it
January 29, 2015 1:00 pm at 1:00 pm #1062101TheGoqParticipantHow about some bratwurst and say have you ever had any brats worse then me?? just kidding smile.
January 29, 2015 5:34 pm at 5:34 pm #1062102goofusParticipantUnless the school is organizing the mishaloch manos, I think it is a bad idea for individual students to give gifts to teachers. It can potentially lead to teachers favoring certain pupils.
January 29, 2015 6:37 pm at 6:37 pm #1062103Yayin Yashan B’Kli ChadashParticipantYou can get her a nice bottle of bourbon. “You give me wings to fly”, can be your caption. On the flower theme, how about three bottles of Four Roses? You’ll give her a dozen roses!
Rema711: gingerbread hamantashen?!?

Btw why don’t you post the recipe for gingerbread hamantashen letovas harabbim?
January 30, 2015 5:41 pm at 5:41 pm #1062111Letakein GirlParticipantSmile, I wonder if know how lucky you are to have a teacher like that, that you can ask all of your questions to. I just had a really bad experience with a teacher of mine (after I asked a question abt Judaism) and… Gosh you’re so lucky.

January 30, 2015 6:30 pm at 6:30 pm #1062113smile101MemberLetakein Girl, B”H I have a mentor. I am so sorry that you did not have a good experience with your teacher. I highly and strongly recommend that you find a different teacher whom you can turn to to ask your questions. Maybe try a teacher that you had last year? Its crucial for a girl to have someone to talk to because we need our questions to be answered. Its hard to go through the day when you have a question on your mind that you need an answer to. Hatzlacha! 🙂
January 30, 2015 6:59 pm at 6:59 pm #1062114Letakein GirlParticipantThanks, smile.

The best Mishloach Manos Idea For Teachers is getting them a bottle of saki and a California Roll
February 13, 2015 8:55 pm at 8:55 pm #1062119screwdriverdelightParticipantI have an awesome recipe:
1. a wicker basket with a bow on top
2. bottle of wine
3. cake
4. car
5. cupful of crushed walnuts (optional)
Carefully back the car over the basket. You may have to do this a few times before it’s properly crushed. Next, take the remaining ingredients and hand them to your teacher.
February 16, 2015 12:03 am at 12:03 am #1062120PosterMemberFor my childrens teachers, whom I also really appreciate, I am planning to give a gift certificate.
I want them to be able to buy something they want.
I feel like money is not personal enough, but a gift is too personal.
I think more important than the Mishloach Manos is a nice card.
February 16, 2015 8:08 am at 8:08 am #1062121Daniel Q BlogMemberI’d do some private eye work to see what food she likes and work from there.
