My father was niftar earlier this week, and was buried at Eretz HaChaim, near Beit Shemesh. The Chevra Kadisha went by Minhag Yerushalayim, and did something that I have never seen or heard of before. Before placing my father in the kever, they placed him on the ground nearby, and then danced 7 hakafot around him while reciting psukim. Can anyone explain this to me?
