If we look at recent history there has been some sort of trend with tragic events happening in mid April. We start off with the Waco Siege on April 19, 1993. Then the Oklahoma city bombing 4/19/95. Columbine shooting 4/20/99. Virgina Tech 4/16/07. Boston marathon bombing 4/15/13. And now sadly the accidental explosion 2 days later. Predating all of this was the assassination of President Lincoln April 14, 1865. Not only are all these events within 1 weeks time but all these years are odd numbered years. What is with this? Coincidence? Mazal? Or neither?

On the other hand, if it is notable, I would wonder if there is a connection to this being the time following Pesach where we spoke of geula and Yeshua. Whenever we have a stronger connection to Hashem we find occurrences and reasons to break those connections as the Yetzer Hora tries to baffle us with tests to our Emunah.

April 19, 2013 5:06 pm at 5:06 pm #947132mercuryMemberI did not come up with his on my own. I read it from someone else commenting on AOL. When I researched the dates of these events I indeed saw that poster was correct.
Syag, of course tragic events happen all the time. You can pick any week of the year and see it. But I am saying no other week in American history has had this many tragic events to this degree of magnitude. Beside the fertilizer plant, these are not accidents. They were plotted in advance by sick individuals and I am curious what it is about this specific time of year.

And I was saying that I wouldn’t accept that at face value, though I don’t know that it is not true. But I also thought I had answered you anyway.

April 19, 2013 8:34 pm at 8:34 pm #947136🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantTaking something at face value means accepting it as truth without looking into it.
I was just saying that someone may have noticed that there were a lot of great tragedies during this week, but without extensive research I wouldn’t be able to say that it is a fact that it is the only week like this. I didn’t mean to nit pick, I am sorry it came out that way.
