AHHHH THERE WAS A MOUSEEE IN MY CLASS TODAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! it was the first time in my life that i saw one and it went on my shoe!!! i screameddddd and rannn onto a desk w another girl and my entire class was shrieking until all 3 principles came!! one of them caught it.. SOOOO traumatizing!! it was limping and running and was grey.. first i thought it was a huge cokaroach!! i was sobbing for like 10 min after!!! was soo scaryyy will never 4get it!!! my class was freaking out like crazy..

The Purple: I heard scurrying and nibbling. So I stamped my foot hard. Immediately, the scurrying and nibbling stopped. That’s the sound of a mouse.

I would move to a hotel if I were you. There are rats on park benches. At least mice are clean.

Purple, several years ago my daughter (probably in middle school at the time) had a mouse in her classroom. Most of the girls (and the teacher) were acting like you, but my kid grabbed the mouse by the tail, presumably while the mouse was traumatized by all the screaming. She then took it out and asked the principal what she should do with it. She said to put it in the trash in the teacher’s room. So she did.

i feel verry bad 4 em.. esp after wat i went thru today.. utterly traumatizing.. i thought a giant roach was wobbling towards me.. (it was limping.. i dont wana thnk why..)

not in ur dreams!!!!!! roaches and mice and raccoons all look exactly the same to me!! i get color blind ii think when im guna faint from fear.. i think i shud blast this horrible story across cnn, no??

The only real way to get rid of mice is to mouse-proof by blocking the holes through which they enter. You can kill a mouse or twenty, but if there is access, chances are that they’ll come back. You don’t want to keep killing mice; you want to find their path and block them out. If you are up one night at the usual time (and they do tend to have patterns of times they come and paths they follow), try to see if you can find the point of entry. Steel wool is effective for blocking. And you really don’t want them in your kitchen – nothing like mouse droppings in the pantry near your breakfast cereal to make you lose your appetite.

The problem with poison is if the mouse dies in the wall after ingesting the poison, that gets pretty smelly. For this particular mouse, though, if you know that the mouse passes through your bedroom door, couldn’t you just line the threshold with sticky traps?

Ah yes, should have said. You need to cover all air bricks, vents and holes that are within a metre (or perhaps more) of the ground with a wire mesh with holes that are too small for a mouse to get through. They can wriggle through the tiniest of gaps and chew around to make the hole bigger. Pest control companies are experts at this but if you DIY, make sure it’s a strong wire mesh with fairly small holes (perhaps max 1x1cm).
