Is there really a better way to deal with Iran’s nuclear program?
July 20, 2015 4:56 am at 4:56 am #1092589tirtzaParticipantThere is another thread dealing with this issue.
See my comments there.
July 20, 2015 7:54 am at 7:54 am #1092590akupermaParticipantIf in ten years, Israel has signed a peace treaty with the Palestinians, then Obama will be considered a genius.
If by September 1939 the British and French military has been built up such that the European War that began over the German invasion of Poland ended in a quick Allied victory, Chamberlain would be fondly remembered for his Czech gambit that defeated Hitler.
By agreeing that Iran will get nuclear weapons in the foreseeable future, Obama is assuming that the next US president will see the peaceful end of the Arab-Israeli conflict, which will render Iran’s agreesive program moot.
July 20, 2015 9:18 am at 9:18 am #1092591BarryLS1Participantsushibagel: Capitulation is never right. Keep tightening the screws with sanctions and any other means available. Obama just initiated your destruction.
will threaten the king of Arabia and because of this the king of Arabia will go to the king of Edom [USA] for advice.
Afterwards the king of Persia will destroy [most of]
And the people of Israel will be frantic and hysterical and they will say, where will we come and go? Where will be come and go?
And Hashem will say to them: Do not fear my children, do not fear. All that I have done I did only for you. Why are you afraid? The time for your Redemption has come!
July 20, 2015 12:49 pm at 12:49 pm #1092592sushibagelMemberBarry: capitulation is right
I agree but it’d more about finding a good solution than about not giving in.
The fact is that the sanctions didn’t slow them down, on the contrary it only seemed to make them more defian, their pride wouldn’t allow them to give in. This new deal gives them an opportunity to give in with their pride intact, it’s let’s the feel like winners but but still forces them to change.
Of course that only works in theory, the medrash tells us what’s really going to happen. Very interesting and very scary.
July 20, 2015 1:07 pm at 1:07 pm #1092593ubiquitinParticipantSushi there is no better alternative (at least none that Ive heard yet)
Tirtza says “See my comments there”
However while she does raise some valid concerns regarding the plan. she does not offer any viable alternatives, which is what sushi asked for.
akuperma
“By agreeing that Iran will get nuclear weapons in the foreseeable future,”
The agreement does the exact opposite
Barry
“Keep tightening the screws with sanctions and any other means available. “
Been there, done that. IT hasnt worked
and besides
“Do not fear my children, do not fear. All that I have done I did only for you. Why are you afraid? The time for your Redemption has come! “
I dont get it, so you are concerned that IRan will keep their end of the deal and not get weapons thus not fullfiling the yalkut?
Sushi
“This new deal gives them an opportunity to give in with their pride intact, it’s let’s the feel like winners but but still forces them to change. “
Exactly! and if they dont keeop their end, the sanctions return! and we are still free to try any other plan that hasnt been suggested yet.
July 20, 2015 1:42 pm at 1:42 pm #1092594sushibagelMemberUbiquitin: Are you actually agreeing to me?
I’m flattered, I’ve given myself a big pat on the back 🙂
July 20, 2015 1:46 pm at 1:46 pm #1092595tirtzaParticipantWow! I can’t believe it , parroting Obama’s talking points.
Who are you guys?
July 20, 2015 2:09 pm at 2:09 pm #1092596tirtzaParticipantIn other forum’s I’ve participated in, it was considered in poor taste to start a thread when another thread dealing with the same subject existed. We are talking about active threads here, and the “Iran Bomb” thread is active and covers the same topic.
Perhaps you never instituted such courtesies on this site, I don’t know, I’m not much of a participant, until recently.
July 20, 2015 2:10 pm at 2:10 pm #1092597sushibagelMemberYes we are indeed. We’ve all heard that Obama is making a terrible mistake and how bad this deal is. The question is why?
July 20, 2015 3:45 pm at 3:45 pm #1092598BarryLS1Participantsushibagel: Sanctions were making it difficult for them and they are hurting financially. Funding for Hezbolloh and others were reduced significantly.
Granted, it was hardly enough. Sanctions should have been much tougher. They didn’t give anything. That’s the issue. Pride intact? They are laughing themselves silly over the ineptness of Obama and Kerry.
You have to understand the Mid-East and Arab mentality. They only respect toughness and force. Now they know that they conned everyone and can do as they please.
It’s just like N. Korea, only these crazies will use the bomb when they get it. They also now have an open door to getting the ballistic missiles they seek and they don’t need them to hit Israel. It’s pretty easy to know who their target will be.
July 20, 2015 4:02 pm at 4:02 pm #1092599sushibagelMemberTirtza: I’m sorry about that I meant no disrespect.
The other active thread is about this issue in general this thread adresses something more specific. Rather than try and cut through the clutter on that thread I thought I’ll start a new one.
July 20, 2015 4:33 pm at 4:33 pm #1092600tirtzaParticipantsushi: you should address that apology to coffee addict, it’s his thread.
July 20, 2015 6:07 pm at 6:07 pm #1092601sushibagelMemberCoffee addict is a nice guy I’m sure he’ll forgive me.
July 20, 2015 6:41 pm at 6:41 pm #1092602DikDukDuckParticipantUSA obviously. It’s not like they care about futility.

July 21, 2015 9:58 am at 9:58 am #1092606sushibagelMemberOh I forgot the title of the thread .ha ha
July 21, 2015 6:46 pm at 6:46 pm #1092607BarryLS1ParticipantDikDukDuck: Exactly. While Jews in the U.S. are so worried about us in Eretz Yisroel, we are far more worried about you.
July 23, 2015 2:52 pm at 2:52 pm #1092608Mashiach AgentMemberIran is Gog, the last nation to fight klal yisroel before mashiach comes. if we just open up our eyes we can see all the nevuos that Hashem told zecharya hanavi over 2000 years ago, coming true now one at a time step by step (open up a zecharya sefer & see the complete list of things that will occur in the pre-mashiach days)
July 23, 2015 2:58 pm at 2:58 pm #1092609YW Moderator-29 👨💻ModeratorMaybe it’s just me, but isn’t there some irony to you spouting knowledge of Hashems ways on one hand and then wanting the Yeshiva World News to be more like ‘all those other news sites from local news to NYT’? I don’t believe anyone who is quite so tuned in to Hashems ways could even bring themselves to browse most of the headlines.
