It is not a hard deadline.
November 29, 2017 1:34 pm at 1:34 pm #1415260JosephParticipantHow do you explain the Gemorah?
November 29, 2017 2:24 pm at 2:24 pm #1415393apushatayidParticipantThe rambam says dont spend to much tome on this. we will know, when it happens, the who, what, where, when and how. Until then forcus on performance of mizvos and avodas hashem.
November 29, 2017 2:46 pm at 2:46 pm #1415433Yserbius123ParticipantIf anyone here is really interested, look at the end of a משניות סנהדרין יכין ובועז for the sefer אורח חיים also written by the יכין ובועז. It’s fairly short, only about 5 pages, and he describes the concepts of the five worlds before מעשה בראשית and the עולם שכולו שבת after the year 6000. He brings down some rather difficult Kabbaladicke topics, so you should have a Rov close at hand to talk things over with. Now days, the sefer is probably most well known for his mention of scientists finding an iguanodon fossil in Baltimore and his explanation that this is proof that Hashem created worlds before the Torah.
November 30, 2017 6:40 pm at 6:40 pm #1416444benignumanParticipantslonimer,
I don’t think so. The gemara that idea is based on is not clearly referring to Moshiach at all. There are many gemaras, midrashim and nevuos about the end times that we don’t understand. It isn’t a reason not to keep halacha. As the Rambam writes (Hilchos Melachim):
NO ONE knows for sure how things will work out, how the pesukim and medrashim will be fulfilled, how and when the geulah will come. Don’t try to work out when Moshiach will come. Do the mitzvos, learn Torah, fear Hashem.
December 1, 2017 8:40 am at 8:40 am #1416717CSParticipantThere is a posuk in tehillim, kapitl tzaddik, “ki elef shonim beiynecha kyom…”
Based on this, I think it is kabbola but may be a medrash that learn that just as Hashem created the world in six days with the seventh being shabbos, so too the world. Every day corresponds to a thousand years. The last millennium is moshiach which is shabbos.
But we don’t take Shabbos in at shkiah exactly, we light beforehand. So moshiach must arrive before then, and as noted we are currently erev shabbos after chatzos if you do the Mah.
As far as the possibility of another world: our chachomim in the gemara tell us that after this last millennium of 7000, no one knows what will be.
So whoever got scared, no worries till the year 7000, and in general no need to fear, as “ain ra yored min hashomayim” abs “Teva Hatov lhaitiv” so no matter what it is, it will be in our best interest
December 4, 2017 11:26 pm at 11:26 pm #1418499slominerParticipantIsn’t it sad that we’ll have spent 2,000 bitter years in golus suffering the worst kinds of punishments at the hands of the goyim. Then when Moshiach comes, and everything is absolutely wonderful, it’ll only be for a short time before the Year 6000. So we’ll enjoy 100 or 200 years in Eretz Yisroel after Moshiach and techiyas hameisim until 6000, and then it all ends. 2000 years in bitter golus followed by 200 blissful years with Hashem. How was the golus worth such a short ending??
December 5, 2017 11:38 pm at 11:38 pm #1420729slominerParticipantIsn’t it sad the two Beis HaMikdash’s stood for less than 1000 years, and now it’s been about 2000 years since they’re destroyed, and when it is rebuilt it’ll only be for at most a couple hundred years until the year 6000?
December 6, 2017 4:48 pm at 4:48 pm #1421276December 6, 2017 5:00 pm at 5:00 pm #1421440GAONParticipantShlucha,
We didn’t see you since the Moshiach thread was closed down…!
Time is all ‘relevant’ – years what we know and count, and what will actually be means nothing .
We have known that for thousands of years (as per Kabalah) and it has been proven Scientifically as well. So I wouldn’t put any stress on anything pertaining the above.
December 7, 2017 12:54 pm at 12:54 pm #1421997CSParticipant@gaon
Yeah I’ve been monitoring. Thanks for the mention. I had half a mind to open a thread on the significance of the embassy announcement on yud tes Kislev but I figured you can all use a break from me now after that long thread 😉December 7, 2017 12:58 pm at 12:58 pm #1422008☕ DaasYochid ☕Participantthe significance of the embassy announcement on yud tes Kislev
I thought Yud Tes Kislev was supposed to be a good day…
December 7, 2017 2:16 pm at 2:16 pm #1422122CSParticipantLol daas yochid, is an amazing day :):)
December 7, 2017 2:22 pm at 2:22 pm #1422102icemelterParticipantYa what a great day where riots started across the world and Israel against Jews. Definitely a reason to celebrate.

Then why do you connect it with a meaningless symbolic announcement which puts many Jewish lives in danger, Hashem yishmor?
December 7, 2017 2:41 pm at 2:41 pm #1422228CSParticipantLol maybe I will open a thread. But not now. Got go to a farbrengen 🙂
December 7, 2017 6:09 pm at 6:09 pm #1422365icemelterParticipantWow thanks for the inspiration shlucha! Everything is always connected to chabad yay! Kiddush lubavitch!
December 7, 2017 11:14 pm at 11:14 pm #1422649PunkParticipantYud tes kislev is an amazing day for all Chabad chassidim and anyone connected to Chabad chassidus and Trump’s announcement l’havdil was amazing. Kiddush Shem Hashem! Yay!! To be sure, there are deios yechidim that didn’t like Trump’s announcement. These are the reporters on CNN etc. One of them is a Jew who has a white beard and if you would ask him he would say that he performs his service lishmah. His name is Wolf Blitzer. I think some people on Yeshiva world news coffee room convinced him.

December 9, 2017 9:55 pm at 9:55 pm #1423018Yechi HamelechParticipantif the year 6000 passes and moshiach doesn’t come then there is a mistake in our calendars.
in other words: what if the sun landed on the earth one day and 200000 people get burned. then foreign aliens fly down in parachutes and release a toxic gas whose antidote is only available in space. then, the oceans rise up and over flow flooding 5 countries.
basically stop imagining and have faith in what our rabbis have been teaching us, and await and demand his coming every day because that will hasten his arrival.December 11, 2017 2:50 pm at 2:50 pm #1424477CSParticipant@chochom +1 plus I find the fact that there is even such a question surprising. For me, I go about my day listening out for the shofar, and looking at world events there’s a good chance moshiach will come this year! Gotta live with the times, people!
I’m understanding a whole new level to Shir hamaalos hayinu kcholmim. It seems there are some who will wake up the the reality that’s been building up for awhile only once moshiach is already here. As trump would say, sad.
We need to chap arein as many mitzvos as possible now because the game is almost up! And then we won’t have the chance to make the same impact anymore…
December 11, 2017 9:36 pm at 9:36 pm #1424646JosephParticipantWhere is your emunah, guys? You’re debating whether Moshiach will c’v not be here in 6000? You should be confident Moshiach will be here before the end of Chanukah!
December 14, 2017 2:08 am at 2:08 am #1427371☢️ Rand0m3x 🎲ParticipantBeing confident that he will eventually come.
Believing that he can come at any time.
Wanting him to come as soon as possible.
All of the above sound like good things. Believing that
he will come within a week… that doesn’t sound right.December 14, 2017 2:09 am at 2:09 am #1427372☢️ Rand0m3x 🎲ParticipantSurely Moshiach will be > 9000?
December 14, 2017 10:37 am at 10:37 am #1427393JosephParticipantYou’re sure you don’t believe he’ll come within a week rather than you’re simply not wanting him to come within a week — because you’re too comfortable in golus to have him interrupt your rhythm and lifestyle or simply not being ready for him?
December 14, 2017 8:05 pm at 8:05 pm #1427844☢️ Rand0m3x 🎲ParticipantWhat’s your source for the idea that Moshiach will come this week?
December 14, 2017 8:34 pm at 8:34 pm #1427866JosephParticipantThe Chofetz Chaim always was prepared with a package of clothing and other necessities, that he took with him wherever he went, so when Moshiach suddenly came and he needed to go to Eretz Yisroel he immediately had all he needed to go with Moshiach.
December 15, 2017 3:50 pm at 3:50 pm #1428091☢️ Rand0m3x 🎲ParticipantThat doesn’t mean he thought he would be coming shortly,
only that he could be. -
