Looking outside at all the trees in bloom…
Enjoying the wonderful weather…
I can’t stop thanking Hashem for the wonderful world
May 12, 2011 3:02 pm at 3:02 pm #766750BSDMemberFor every step, for every breath. Thank you H-shem. (I was once in an accident and shattered my vertebrae. According to the doc I was this close to … So now I can appreciate that every step is a gift and not to be taken for granted!)

Why do you think “ha ha ha ha” (above) is in such a good mood today, thanking HaSh-m?
–He (she?) is an allergist!!!!
Just kidding… Hodu la’Sh-m ki tov!!!!
May 12, 2011 7:46 pm at 7:46 pm #766753chocandpatienceMemberI’ve noticed an interesting thing:
Newborn babys’ nostrils are rigid for the first 6 weeks or so, and then they soften up. I assume this is to ensure the airway remains open, even if they press their face against something.
A few weeks later, once they can move their heads, they no longer need this.
Ma Rabu Masecha Hashem!
May 12, 2011 7:58 pm at 7:58 pm #766754bptParticipantEach and every day, summer and winter. There is always something in nature that amazes me. From things as grand as a sweeping view of a terrific vista, to as easily missed as a tiny red bug that is as small as the dot at the end of this sentence.
For those intrested in bugs, I think they are called Clover Mites. Really small, not sure what they do, but as amazing a creation as the 5000 lb hippo.
What a world Hashem made!
May 12, 2011 8:00 pm at 8:00 pm #766755twistedParticipantSichu b’chol nifl’osav: I was flat on my back today, marveling how a minor imabalance in pressure in a sinus incapacitates a 190 lb muscle and bones energizer- bunny kind of guy. Above, a black jumper spider workied its way across the cieling. From the floor, it appeared star shaped. Each joint of those eight legs is precisely muscled and enervated, and the adhesion of the end of the legs, or their grasp in the gaps of the painted surface is just enough to keep spider’s mass stuck to the cieling against gravity, but not so much that those tiny muscles cant pick up and place down in rapid succession.

That comment was uncalled for.
You have no idea who is homebound, in the hospital, or anything.

This, from a moto-fashionista, who sees the art in half sleeves?
Who’da thunk?

Ever since the trailer for THHGTTG came out (years ago), I have never been able to think of that song in the same way.
KABOOM!

R’ Shraga Feivel ZT”L was davening while looking out of a window
When asked why he was not looking into a Siddur he replied
I am. Dovid Hamelech’s Siddur
Sorry my transcription skills aren’t the greatest
May 13, 2011 7:20 pm at 7:20 pm #766773bptParticipantCan someone please clue me in? I googled THHGTTG, got “The hitch hikers guide to the galaxy” and am totally baffled.
And I was around in ’78!
Help?
May 13, 2011 7:23 pm at 7:23 pm #766774bptParticipantNever mind. Louis Armstrong. I got it.

Humanity is divided into the ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’.
Those who have read the Guide and those who have not.

unbelievable to call R Shraga Feivel ZT”L “Mr Mendlowitz.”
He called himself that out of modesty, and I’ve heard people call him that, always as a term of respect and endearment.
May 15, 2011 5:09 pm at 5:09 pm #766780ursula momishMemberAmyisraelchai: As DY noted, R Shraga Feivel ZT”L specifically and emphatically requested that he be called/referred to as “Mr.” Mendlowitz. Whether we have to hold by his request now, could be questioned.

i read the hitchhiker’s guide and others in the series, but what does that poem have to do with it?
May 15, 2011 5:29 pm at 5:29 pm #766782me tooMemberIMHO Nothing pays justice to the greatness of this ???????? ??? as well as “Mr. Mendelowitz”. ???? ?”???” ??? which he choose for himself
May 15, 2011 5:47 pm at 5:47 pm #766783chocandpatienceMemberbinah: it really has nothing to do with it. Just that one of the radio series closed with that song
