In a different thread, posters opposed exercise/working out because a person shouldn’t “worship” their bodies, or may come to do so, notwithstanding the Torah’s admonition “U’shmartem es nafshosaichem.” So, do these same people feel the same away about dressing nicely? Do you who oppose working out, advocate dressing in ill-fitted clothing, and do they frown upon those whose clothes may be what they would consider too fitted?
I assume you realize that there is no connection. You are asking if those who oppose to over focusing on health are opposed to people wearing clothing that lacks tznius. Were you really trying to ask if those in the first catagory oppose overfocus on dress?
To clarify my point, there are those who oppose to working out because they say it makes people care too much about their bodies, namely to look good, and I wonder if they feel the same away about people who focus on the way they dress to make themselves look good.
There’s a difference between being excessive on an issue and being reasonable. The only question is where the line is drawn. But there certainly is a line.
