Someone sent this to me:
Amongst Nassau County’s hardest hit communities was the City of Long Beach, NY. Situated on an island, this beautiful, tree-lined “City by the Sea” took the full brunt of Superstorm Sandy’s fury, leaving the once-tranquil, bucolic streets looking much like a war zone.
The Long Beach Storm Relief project is an emergency initiative by the Mesivta of Long Beach to provide immediate relief to our friends and neighbors in the Long Beach Jewish community. Many of these dear friends and neighbors have sustained devastating, unrecoverable losses to their homes, their personal property and belongings. Families living in proximity of the oceanfront area have been displaced from their homes and places of work and had their lives suddenly turned upside down.
