blinky- btw it can be used for both. In chat its generally used for Laugh Out Loud but also can be used for the other purpose…

I think its only used for Lots of Love in England. Thats a very English expression

People shouldn’t use it in the CR because most of the time it’s used as a rank out.
I often think LOL stands for “I have nothing to say but I feel like you are expecting a response and since LOL requires the smallest amount of time and effort by way of response, that is what I will say.”
Other times, I think it stands for “I know this is a really loaded conversation, especially for texting, so I am going to make a lame attempt at difusing the tension with a halfhearted LOL, despite the fact that you and I both know that nobody is laughing.”
Or sometimes it stands, simply, for “you thought you were funny there, didn’t you?”
I always use lol just so the other person knows I’m kidding. It’s kinda like a half smile. Cuz when you are texting you don’t know the emotion the other person is writing it with, so if you write lol they know don’t take my too seriously, I’m not upset…
