DY – agreed then. And of course people are unjustifiably upset due to personal reasons – is anyone ever really upset because of the ‘principle of the matter’ ?!
February 24, 2014 8:08 pm at 8:08 pm #1005360popa_bar_abbaParticipantThat’s was not my observation. What do people whose cars were snowed in do to get them out?
Not a good point.
You can get your car out, but leave such a pile of snow in the spot the next guy won’t be able to get in, and it will all freeze in a slushy pile.
You’ve seen the difference between a spot where the shoveler intends to return and where he doesn’t.

And of course people are unjustifiably upset due to personal reasons
I don’t think it’s unjustifiable. Whether or not a person is required to shovel, and generating some reaction because you are upset may be wrong, but it’s certainly understandable in some circumstances to be upset.
is anyone ever really upset because of the ‘principle of the matter’ ?!
I don’t think anyone would be upset because of the principal of the matter in such a case. People are upset because they slipped or fell, or are scared they will.

Not good grammar either.
To your point: I guess I haven’t lived where there’s a “Law of Return”, so I haven’t seen beautifully shoveled spots, but they’re usable anyhow.
I can’t imagine driving around the block five times not being able to park because all of the open spots have lawn furniture in them.
February 24, 2014 11:37 pm at 11:37 pm #1005364LogicianParticipanttrust 789 – Well that’s just the point. They are upset because of what happened, and find a scapegoat, as mentioned earlier. By unjustified I meant for being directed at the person.
February 25, 2014 12:27 am at 12:27 am #1005365oomisParticipantWhat’s worse is when YOU shovel everything and either the City plows it right over, or once you move your car out, someone else takes your freshly shoveled spot and doesn’t move for days. Both happened to me.
February 25, 2014 2:55 am at 2:55 am #1005366☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhat’s even worse is when they block your driveway before a snowstorm, then when they shovel their way out afterwards, they think they have the right to the spot in front of your driveway for the rest of the winter.
