Levi Aron vs. Martin Grossman

Both of these people were Jews who murdered someone in cold blood. Why is it that Martin Grossman was taken up as a cause, with people fighting for his life? When he was executed, his body was flown to NY. Hundreds of people came to the funeral. A Chassidic Rebbe was maspid him.

Now, people are calling for Levi Aron to be killed. He is also a Jew who murdered someone. Is he really so much worse than Martin Grossman was? They were both evil people, who took a life for no reason.

I’m not trying to defend Levi Aron. He is a sick person, who committed a terrible crime. I wouldn’t mind if he got the death penalty. However, I will not advocate it. He is still a Jew, and Jews do not have the authority to sentence someone to death halachicly.

Why are the same people who begged for the life of Martin Grossman to be spared now calling for Levi Aron to be killed? It just doesn’t make sense.
