    OOH, Sorry,

    when I was a kid our worst punishment was being sent home unshod – and no one had Shabbos hoses in those abcient days – our worst food was having soap put in our mouths, …..

    goldersgreener, can you please explain what you wrote? You were sent home without shoes? For what reason? And what is a “Shabbos hose?”

    when I was a child in GG if you came to school late, or you ran in the corridor etc.. the menahel confiscated your shoes. if you twice in a week you went home without them. No one had Shabbos SHOES in those days, so it was a rather painful and humiliating punishment.
