I’ve found that creating incentives for myself to get up and get things done works well for me. Whenever I have college work or the such, I “bribe” myself that if I write 5 pages of my term paper then I can play this game or eat that chocolate or read a chapter in my book.
Propel yourself with words and promises. Say, out loud, I will get up in a minute and do such and such. Then you are compelled to follow suit. This won’t work if you don’t consider your words binding. In that case, work on that , first.
As important as it is to think there are times when you have to be able to not think. When it is time to do something don’t think, just get up and do it.
When you think about the job ahead it gets overwhelming. The fact is that you don’t do the whole thing at once, you do it as you move along. When you are thinking about what you have to do, you are thinking of the whole thing at once, which is impossible and overwhelming.
THis thread hurts. I get really upset to hear someone say:”I’m lazy, or tired or can’t be bothered”. After fighting for my life for two years having gone through 4 major operations and harsh treatment i say to you Appreciate and be grateful. B”H you can – get up in the morning go to work,do what ever needs doing. Appreciate and get up and do.
