Sort it every day. If you have wet, smelly stuff, it might be prudent to wash if you have asthmatics or people sensitive. CYLOR.

Chumra? You mean there’s more than just a very small minority opinion allowing laundry to be done on Chol HaMoed? Please give the source!

It is only mutar to launder money on Chol HaMoed if it is being used to purchase goods and services that are necessary for the chag or used to buy aliyois and kibudim on Shmini Atzeres and Simchas Torah.

To 600kilo: clever, but are you happy being so cynical? There’s a great tape/essay by Rabbi Frand on leitzanus/cynicism. After that, read his essay To Give is Divine, google anything you can about Rabbi Grossman of Migdal HaEmek…your faith in humanity will be restored.

Sunflower, huh? I had no access yesterday and will have to check out what you are referring to. Yes, Creedmoor is a mental institution, and because it rhymes with Admou”r and almost became the site of a Chassidish housing development (much of it is vacant) I use the vacant parts as the setting for my satire.

Tzippi, it is your very attitude that leads to concert bans and similar extremism which in turn weaken the authority of rabbonim and promote REAL cynicism and disillusionment within the community.

kilobear, I think sunflower was referring to the Family First section of the Mishpacha magazine. (they mentioned Creedmoor there)

Oh, and I met Rav Grossman at least once. If I put on a few Creedmoor skits for him (with references changed from US to EY so he’d understand what I was joking about), he’d be falling out of his chair laughing!

600kilo, my apologies. I read your post as symptomatic of the kind of cynicism engendered by useless bans, etc.

(And for the record, I have a very irreverent sense of humor, and am fairly liberal in many ways, i.e. not into a lot of the nonsense referred to myself.)

I will try to stop personal references in these posts. Not a good idea anyway.

LOL the whole point of Creedmoor is that the people at the fringes of our communities who lead double lives represent no one but themselves and are just people who cannot control their taavois. And some of it really has no point at all except an attempt at kosher comedy that satirizes real problems by exaggerating them to laughable proportions.

Those who lead double lives might as well follow a phantom rebbe with 150 quintillion personalities who all cheat on welfare and live on the partially vacated grounds of what once was a legendary beis mishegoyim!

Big bad box or big bad bear? Do you mean those boxes that show up as an entire page or are you referring to my boxer’s build?

Ah, yes, I haven’t seen Mishpacha in ages – how is Creedmoor referenced? At one time a certain somewhat controversial Chassidish kehilla wanted to develop Creedmoor for housing but a political battle ensued and the kehilla gave up, finding another location instead.

kilobear, not to fear. I was not referring to you, rather, that grey box you get instead of the recent post (and then you have to change the page number on the URL to one before…)

And there was a whole series of stories in the Mishpacha of different families that took in different stranded souls. I cant remember the details now, but there was a mention of Creedmoor and I gave out a big LOL when I read that!
