Mine is Sino Steak
November 14, 2010 5:41 am at 5:41 am #1039426WIYMemberSino steak works for me, Sesame chicken is good so are the cold cut sandwiches.
November 14, 2010 6:40 am at 6:40 am #1039427HomeownerMemberI always order the “heart healthy” specials. Wait, I must be delusional. 🙂
November 14, 2010 9:21 am at 9:21 am #1039428PosterMemberMy favorite is chicken in garlic sauce.
November 14, 2010 3:09 pm at 3:09 pm #1039429whatrutalkingabtMemberSino steak sandwich from there is THE best.

November 15, 2010 6:29 pm at 6:29 pm #1039436bptParticipantOnion rings, without a doubt.
November 16, 2010 5:40 pm at 5:40 pm #1039437minyan galMemberdeiyezooger- This restaurant has shlishkes?? I haven’t eaten them since I was a little girl and my Baba made them for me. I am definitely planning to make aliyah to this place. I adore shlishkes. I hope that all of you posters realize how lucky you are. Where I live there is only one kosher place to eat – the restaurant at the JCC, which is dairy. Those who keep strictly kosher don’t have any other options for dining out.

You do realize that you can buy the EXACT bag that they use and make them for yourself at home.
minyan
Time to move.
November 16, 2010 6:03 pm at 6:03 pm #1039439squeakParticipantLet’s take a pledge here to send minyan gal a bag of shlishkes every week via parcel mail. Maybe she has a PO Box? Who wants to take the first week?
November 16, 2010 7:39 pm at 7:39 pm #1039440rescue37ParticipantI reccomend Kosher Deluxe on 46th st in Manahttan. Better service, cleaner and better food.
November 16, 2010 7:43 pm at 7:43 pm #1039441arcParticipantyou.
November 16, 2010 7:59 pm at 7:59 pm #1039443HelpfulMemberBoro Park KD has the best service.

November 16, 2010 8:23 pm at 8:23 pm #1039445justsmile613ParticipantKD Manhattan is really great also
November 16, 2010 8:24 pm at 8:24 pm #1039446AinOhdMilvadoParticipantI heard they’re giving out cards now that get stamped when you buy any sandwich or burger with fries.
With every ten meals you buy, you get a free triple bypass operation!
Just kidding – I indulge there too – but you can’t do it too often, – it WILL catch up with you.
November 16, 2010 8:49 pm at 8:49 pm #1039447americaisoverParticipant$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ich can nisht
November 16, 2010 9:15 pm at 9:15 pm #1039448squeakParticipantarc has volunteered. Thank you arc.
Minyan gal, let arc know what PO Box to send it to.
November 17, 2010 8:14 pm at 8:14 pm #1039449bptParticipant“You do realize that you can buy the EXACT bag that they use and make them for yourself at home.”
Tried it, but the oven does not do the job like a deep fryer. And there is also no way to duplicate the weeks old saturated oil they have.
Besides, the “scene” adds to the experience!
November 17, 2010 11:50 pm at 11:50 pm #1039450minyan galMemberThank you all for your concern regarding my shlishka-less state. I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of shipment #1 and have invited several friends to share the bounty with me at a Shabbat dinner one week from Friday. Can you please put a rush on the delivery???? (ps – you are all invited to the shlishka feast).
November 18, 2010 4:05 am at 4:05 am #1039451addictedParticipantActually, I really do not like KD. After eating there, I just feel like I am swimming in a pool of oil. And I never get full from their portions, which I find to be pretty small.
November 19, 2010 7:23 pm at 7:23 pm #1039452bptParticipant“Shabbat dinner”
A word of caution, Minyan Gal. After the 1st few fork-fulls, you might feel the urge to invite people to the “shabbis seedah”
This is normal. With time, it will start to feel natural.
November 23, 2010 1:44 am at 1:44 am #1039453blueberrymuffinParticipantI love their Hot Poppers! (I might actually be mixing them up with a different kosher eatery…)
March 13, 2013 7:23 pm at 7:23 pm #1039454Gangnam StyleMemberKosher delight closed down last May after failing numerous health department inspections. Its a shame they were in a good location and the food was tasty and not too expensive. Does anyone know about specific problems that got them shut down?
March 14, 2013 4:58 am at 4:58 am #1039455TheBearIsBackMemberKD was owned by a family that has many other successful business interests, and they let their restaurants slowly fall apart. It had a great run; someone else will start something new.
March 14, 2013 7:10 am at 7:10 am #1039456YW Moderator-18ModeratorWhich KD are you referring to? The one in Flatbush is still open. I heard the one in BP closed because of the rent.
March 14, 2013 7:26 am at 7:26 am #1039457rebdonielMemberKD in Flatbush seems shvach and moribund these days
Kosher Deluxe in Manhattan was always better, I felt.
March 14, 2013 3:56 pm at 3:56 pm #1039458Gangnam StyleMemberI am reffering to the kosher delight in midtown Manhattan.
March 14, 2013 6:23 pm at 6:23 pm #1039459REALISTMemberMOD 18 –
You heard correctly.
I heard it directly from the landlord.
He, by the way, is now making more each month from the bank than if KD had accepted his raise.
No pun intended, but he’s laughing his way to the proverbial bank!
The bank actually had a good laugh when I walked in and asked for a grilled frank with spicy fries and a coke!
March 18, 2013 7:54 am at 7:54 am #1039460YW Moderator-42ModeratorAre there any Dougies still open?

Not any more..

November 3, 2014 3:38 pm at 3:38 pm #1039466ari-freeParticipantYes, I read the posted sig before responding. Not everyone is from Flatbush.
November 4, 2014 5:07 pm at 5:07 pm #1039468walton157MemberBecoming a bank. Aren’t enough on Avenue J. I will miss the Snack Box.
🙁
November 4, 2014 5:13 pm at 5:13 pm #1039469AZOI.ISParticipantI read theyre going in a healthier/more vegetarian direction.
Daily News reported about a week ago that “The restaurant’s wealthy owner plans to open a healthier eatery in the neighborhood in six weeks”. Anyone know more?
Why the need to mention that the restaurant owner is wealthy, Im not sure… Hmmmm.
