I was really looking forward to Avraham Fried’s new music CD. It has been a while since he released new material and I was awaiting the superstar in Jewish music to surprise us. Surprise us he did! I was baffled as I was listening to the teaser; I couldn’t place it, but a host of songs were familiar to me. Upon review I nailed it: Elokai Neshomo (a phenomenal song by Moshe Laufer) was previously recorded on L’Cahim-Shira and Together (Nashir BYachad) #4, while Ribono Shel Olam (a beautiful Hebrew song — Rak Od Dimah Achad) is a song featured on L’farnes from Yisroel Parnes.
I do appreciate that we will receive 11 new tracks however. I guess that copying music has a greater effect on the industry than I ever imagined (First MBD, now Avraham Fried)…
