“If you don’t change your attitude Mr Health (is it Dr? Prof? Rabbi?), you will alienate your family and friends, and you will be a very lonely person.”
Health replied:
“I already am; so give me another reason to change. “
Health, I don’t being alienated and lonely makes you happy. Does it? If not please change; we want to see you happy.
January 16, 2012 6:42 am at 6:42 am #844223hello99ParticipantAvi: Do you agree that American law does not determine and is irrelevant to Halachos of LH. Is there any right in Halacha to a public trial?
If you meant that it is a To’eles to the defendent, that would only be relevant at the trial phase of the proceedings, he would prefer the arrest itself be discrete.
So, can we agree that all these articles are unquestionably forbidden?

Why will I become happy if I change?
January 16, 2012 3:40 pm at 3:40 pm #844225Sam2ParticipantHealth: You don’t know that you will. But what you do know is that you’re unhappy now. Why wouldn’t you try a change? Isn’t a chance at being happy better than what you know now doesn’t make you happy?

Most people are happier than you, at least they seem to be. Even here in the CR, where the anonymous can freely express their feelings, we see that most (almost all) of us have a better attitude than you.
Besides which, although I don’t know that much, I don’t think that the principle of “Ain Sofek Yotzay Meday Vaday” applies to attitudes/hashkafa.
January 16, 2012 6:04 pm at 6:04 pm #844230yahudMemberi am officially moiche regarding the onslaught on health’s disagreement tactics. i surely dont think that most ppl are hapier than he is. as long as he stays that is..

And why NOT? You don’t change things unless you know they will be better. That’s why we didn’t ask Hashem to get rid of Achashveyrosh because we didn’t know if the next king would be better! (This just illustrates the point, not necessarily about attitudes/hashkafa.)
January 16, 2012 7:01 pm at 7:01 pm #844232Sam2ParticipantHealth: I think the point is you should always do something to try and make yourself happier. If it fails then you can go back to what you are doing now. But if it succeeds…
January 16, 2012 11:00 pm at 11:00 pm #844233hello99Participantavi: any response to the LH issue. Also, the new headline about the fight in Chadera, can you call that anything other than LH?
January 17, 2012 12:40 am at 12:40 am #844234Sam2ParticipantHello: If you know that these headlines are LH, why are you reading them?
