Does anyone know where I can get a GOOD Jewish Calendar to hang on my wall in this upcoming new year? I have had some that I can no longer get now. I hope that I can find one that has the Parsha, Candle lighting times, Fast days and any other important information.

Where I live, Chabad gives away just the calendar that you are looking for. I am quite sure that Chabad must give them away in a lot of places. The calendar even has big enough squares to write appointment reminders on and has a hole to hang it on a hook. I have had many Jewish calendars, but I always go back to the Chabad one. Oh, it is printed on matte finished paper so it is easy to write on and has no glare.

Yes, the local ChaBaD has a very useful calendar. I do not know if I will receive it this year as I am no longer affiliated with their congregation. So if that is the case, I need a good one from somewhere else. Jewish War Veterans has a calendar that I have had in the past, but it is not complete enough to really be that useful. There must be a few other sources I am sure.

depends where you are. In lakewood, Satmar Cheder makes the one you’re looking for. I imagine others are available in other cities. So, where are you?

I think that Artscroll has one – something Heritage…

We have one from Acheinu- we get it in the mail about Rosh Hashana time but I’m sure you can call and ask for one.

It is large and easy to read. Each day has a few lines to write down chasunas/appt.s and it lists the candlelightingtimes at the bottom for many different cities worldwide.

chabad is one of the best around…especially here in Montreal.

I also get on from the Tash chassidim up north outside the city, but it’s not as detailed..

The Chabad calendar that I was talking about comes free in the local Jewish weekly newspaper. I think they have extras at the Chabad Centre. The calendar ususally comes in the issue closest to Rosh Hashanah or between RH and Yom Kippur, so I think if you go to your local Chabad around that time you should be able to get one.
