Is it worth releasing the death photos of bin Laden to prove that he is dead,
or should we have faith in and believe whatever the US government has told us …
May 4, 2011 4:47 pm at 4:47 pm #764382aries2756ParticipantYes, it is worth releasing the photos. The world needs to see that he is dead. Personally, I need to see proof. I don’t believe anything Obama says. More so, I need to see a photo of his dead body on one side of a page and on the other a photo of all the downed towers, the smoke, the bodies, the mayhem and chaos. A photo of a dead Osama by itself is just not dramatic enough for me. I need to see a dead Osama weighed against the destruction he committed.
May 4, 2011 4:49 pm at 4:49 pm #764383YW Moderator-80Memberthe photos will be no more proof than anything else that has already been said
May 4, 2011 4:50 pm at 4:50 pm #764384BSDMemberYes we need to send a strong message to the world. Don’t tread on me.
May 4, 2011 4:54 pm at 4:54 pm #764385adorableParticipantit does not prove that he is dead – just like Obama’s birth certificate does not prove where he was born. Our president is the last person I believe in the worlD!
May 4, 2011 5:08 pm at 5:08 pm #764386jewish sourceParticipantIt would have proved if the photos were produced rite away like by Hussein. Now that he is stalling means there is something up. personally i am not convinced and generally
I am very gullible.
May 4, 2011 5:12 pm at 5:12 pm #764387Cinci BengalMemberThe head of the CIA has already said to TIME that there was never a question some sort of picture would be released and that it was only a matter of when and how.
Mod 80’s statement is 100% correct as any picture can be doctored and is therefore no more proof than what is already out there.
Aries and Adorable, you shouldn’t believe it simply because Obama said it nor if any other president had said it. Rather, you should believe it because as anything of this nature, you yourself can’t verify it and as such you must take the government of your country at their word in the absence of any evidence to the contrary. It is rather ridiculous to think that leaders in this country and around the world are all conspiring to make up a story Osama is dead. Not to mention, if Osama were alive, let him prove it himself.
May 4, 2011 5:19 pm at 5:19 pm #764388Dave HirschParticipantI understand the hesitation to release the photos. Nevertheless, I firmly believe that it should be released and published (if it’s too graphic, it should have a warning). I, however, do not think that it should be released to validate his death to the American public (the “deathers” will remain “deathers” regardless). Rather, it should serve as a message to the terrorists around the world (many who are in denial that their “spiritual leader” is dead). It would send them a clear and unambiguous warning that America will forever prevail, and terrorism is doomed.
“A picture is worth more than a thousand words…”
May 4, 2011 5:28 pm at 5:28 pm #764390aries2756ParticipantPeter King said Osama was shot in the face and it is NOT as gruesome as it is made out to be. I want to see it for myself. I am sorry to say this but after the picture in my mind of a baby’s throat slashed, I want to savor that picture of Haman Harasha with a bullet through his head. Somehow that is a comforting thought. Americans have never cheered nor gathered to celebrate anyone’s death as l’havdel the arabs do. This is a very different and unusual circumstance.
That picture should be posted and circulated for the entire world to see balanced with a photo of all the destruction and lives he wiped out. A shot in the face was not enough torture and pain for the pain he caused the entire world. His true onesh is in the world to come.
May 4, 2011 5:32 pm at 5:32 pm #764391Mother in IsraelMemberI don’t think a picture is evidence that he’s dead, but I do think that if he weren’t dead, the army would be making it very clear that Obama is lying.
May 4, 2011 5:37 pm at 5:37 pm #764392Cinci BengalMemberVarious news sources reporting Obama has decided not to release the photos … good to know everyone in the administration is on the same page.

In an interview with Steve Kroft for this Sunday’s 60 Minutes, President Obama says he won’t release post-mortem images of Osama Bin Laden taken to prove his death.

May 4, 2011 5:51 pm at 5:51 pm #764394Ctrl Alt DelParticipantI want to see his death. The people who died at the trade center didn’t get a choice on the publicity of their deaths. And he wont either. I want to see the bloodied, macerated flesh of the (what they say were) 2 shots to the face. I want to see the nekamah meted out against him. I can only wish that they release the footage of the actual shooting so I myself can be witness to the final death throes of that murderous animal. In my head I replay with glee his final moments. I’m not going to get too graphic, it would probably disturb alot of people. Suffice it to say that even head shots are not instantly fatal. After I heard the news I composed a small and silent prayer to hashem thanking him for meting out justice via the hands of US military.
May 4, 2011 5:58 pm at 5:58 pm #764395May 4, 2011 5:59 pm at 5:59 pm #764396charliehallParticipantThe Obamahaters won’t believe anything the President says anyway, so the rise of the Deather movement should have no impact in his decision.
What should matter are two considerations: First, potential danger to Americans, so eloquently stated by Congressman Mike Pence (who BTW is a right wing Republican). Second, there may be a concept of kvod hameit even for non-Jews, even rashaim.
May 4, 2011 6:00 pm at 6:00 pm #764397cherrybimParticipantObama doesn’t want to upset his landsmen in the Arab world..boo hoo hoo…sob sob. New truths come out every day. We know what they want us to know, no more. I too would like to see the video of the creep’s last moments.
May 4, 2011 6:00 pm at 6:00 pm #764398BSDMemberRepublican House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers said Wednesday that the Obama administration should not release the gruesome postmortem images…
Please… Let’s be more honest in our comparison:If one of our troops or military leaders went on a rampage targeting civilians on a large and devastating scale and then was posted on the internet, I don’t believe reasonable Americans would be outraged
Wrong again! Osama has caused a lot of pain and insecurity to our nation and there is a real need for closure.
May 4, 2011 6:04 pm at 6:04 pm #764399BSDMemberThe images of 9-11 are still fresh in our minds. A photo of the perpetrator getting his just reward is welcome.
May 4, 2011 6:10 pm at 6:10 pm #764400popa_bar_abbaParticipantWhat an imbecile!
We don’t have to imagine what our reaction would be.
The moslems do that all the time and release videos and pictures.
(Daniel Pearl, the 4 blackwater employees hung from the bridge, etc.)
May 4, 2011 6:13 pm at 6:13 pm #764401adorableParticipantI think they should release some photos but not all maybe. They are upset that he was killed already why would this aggravate them more? They are not humans and we have to stop treating them like they are! Plus no one believes this president of ours anymore so…lets see his proof!
May 4, 2011 6:28 pm at 6:28 pm #764402ShrekParticipanta picture is not proof of anything anymore, now that every 5-year old can use Photoshop.
I would not be surprised if Osama was captured alive & is being waterboarded at this very moment somewhere in the basement of the Pentagon.
May 4, 2011 7:08 pm at 7:08 pm #764403Dave HirschParticipantpopa_bar_abba,
Well said. These monsters want to harm us regardless of what we do. If they have the opportunity to carry out an attack on America or its allies — they will do it! Pictures or not, they seek our downfall anyway. It might give them an excuse for the despicable act, but we ought to remember that they sought “revenge” on 9/11 — before we went to war with them and published pictures.
I believe, to the contrary, that gruesome images of the “Emir” dead, will break their morale even more and it might even have a positive effect. Every warrior, human or not, needs “esprit de corps” to fight a battle.
I, respectfully, disagree with Chairman Rogers and President Obama.

I heard it’s much, much worse.
In the Pentagon basement, they set up a mock TSA airline security booth where he has to wait in line for 5 hours just to get to an agent who spins him around, taps him with a wand & then brings him into a back room….midah keneged midah. Midah. Keneged. Midah.
