Why is it considered acceptable to have Instagram yet not facebook?
October 23, 2013 3:01 am at 3:01 am #981943frumnotyeshivishParticipantBeing that you are arbitrarily coming to a conclusion that you are challenging, the person to ask the question to is yourself.

Facebook crept in, now Instagram is creeping in.
By the time people recognize the pitfalls, the apple has been pervaded.
October 23, 2013 12:40 pm at 12:40 pm #981945heretohelpMemberI completely agree with frumnotyeshivish’s characterization of the op, but putting that aside, my understanding is they’re completely different. Facebook is facebook, which I’ve been on. I’ve never used instagram, but I understand it to be a way to share photos. Is there something wrong with photos now?
October 23, 2013 6:24 pm at 6:24 pm #981946SaysMeMemberand i dont even know what instagram is! though maybe thats a good thing, by the sounds of this thread

How about Google Plus (Google+)??? That is much more like Facebook, and you will see regular BY girls on it, replete with photos!!!!

October 23, 2013 9:34 pm at 9:34 pm #981950BoruchSchwartzParticipantmike piazza? where have you been all these years?
October 23, 2013 10:50 pm at 10:50 pm #981951–ParticipantWhat makes Instagram acceptable? Maybe I just don’t get it, for example what makes text messaging unacceptable.

Who said it’s acceptable?
How does Instagram work anyway? I know it’s something with photos but what purpose does it serve?
October 24, 2013 11:30 am at 11:30 am #981953mikepiazzaMemberBoruch Schwartz what do you mean

October 24, 2013 4:30 pm at 4:30 pm #981955keepitcomingMemberinstagram has no purpose other than to waste more time and keep ppl out of reality..
October 24, 2013 4:46 pm at 4:46 pm #981956streekgeekParticipantFor all those in the dark – Instagram is all about posting pictures, tagging people with messages regarding the picture, and using hashtags to describe how you feel.
The reason why people find it cleaner then Facebook, and more acceptable is because there is only so much you can do on Instagram. It’s not like FB and G+ because it’s so much more limiting.
As for G+ – it’s practically now part of Gmail, so all those regular BY girls who have Gmail will most probably have G+. Most don’t use them and I’m sure some don’t even know it exists. And the pictures posted publically on those accounts are usually the profile pictures of their email accounts that Google automatically saves to their G+ profile.

Thats the purpose of most of the apps that come out for android and iPhone. They dont want people living real life.
