Post a specific thing you respect about another group in Judaism which you do not affiliate with.
It needn’t be a group you have anything against.
And it can even be something you disagree with, but which does have positive aspects. (Like I think liberals are nuts, but I appreciate that they want to take care of poor people.)
I respect chassidim for their strong identification with mesorah.
I respect Litvaks for their strong limud Torah.
I respect lubavitch for all their work in kiruv, chasidim for their immense hacnosos archim
I respect Teimenim for maintaining their peyos and dress and unbroken Jewish traditions for thousands of years.
I respect Yekkes for meticulously coming to Shul on time.
I respect Chassidim for wearing the livush even when in places where there aren’t many Jews (unlike me where I always try to blend in)
I respect Chabad for always putting the needs of other before their own.

I agree with your post, bu why are they differnet then Chassidim who do the same?
I respect all jews today who are going in the path of the torah.Trying their hardest no matter what.
I respect Breslov chassidim for their Joyus outlook on life.
I respect ALL Jews because they are all my brothers and sisters. Personally, I don’t care how they dress or where they daven. We must promote more unity amongst Yidden because I believe that is what Hashem wants. The more divided we are, the easier it will be for us, as a nation, to fall. We must remember that “in unity there is strength”. If we don’t learn from the lessons of the past we are bound to fail.
I respect MO/YU who show us how to be a frum Jew and still be a professional.
I respect Satmar for their massive Chesed, Tzedakah, and Hachnosos Orchim operations that they inclusively serve the entire Jewish community with. Founding of Hatzalah, Bikur Cholims, Shomrim, Hachnosos Kallah funds, and so many more that I can’t even remember while fasting.
I respect Chareidim for their strong Emunas Chachomim and following Talmidei Chachomim even if they don’t understand or agree.
I respect Sefardim for their strong sense of Kovod HaRav and deferring to their Rabbonim’s say on whatever matters.
I respect all Jews because we are all made btzelem elokim.
I respect the Jewish Soilders from all backgrounds serving in the IDF. Who constantly put their life on the line for Kal Yisroel.
I respect Talmidei Chachomim for all their Torah learning that keeps Klal Yisroel safe and going.
I respect Rabbonim for all their kochos night and day they put into helping Yidden.
I respect rebbeim, who always seem to be available, even at 2 or 3 in the morning, and always seem to know the right thing to say.
I respect ba’alei teshuva, who have chosen a path that often times is not the easiest way in life.
I respect Kollel yungerleit for choosing a life of full-time Torah – and many of them giving up the worldly and monetary comforts they could have otherwise achieved for the spiritual growth that is worth so much more (even if it is hard to always realize.)
All of the above. Plus I respect MO for keeping Judaism alive before the WWII refugees came here (Hat tip: Lt. Birnbaum and Amos Bunim). And Agudah for their Hatzalah efforts to save Jews during the Holocaust and the souls of the Teheran, Yemenite, and Morroccan children from the leftist Zionists after the war.

Msseeker, that was very nice. I respect Chasidishe women (especially Satmar) for their deep commitment to Tznius; and Chasidishe men for their Shmiras H’einayim. I respect the Modern Orthodox Kehilla for their tolerance and good middos.
I respect Shadchanim for their tireless effort in trying to faciliate Shidduchim, despite being constantly harrassed and under appreciated.

I respect Skvere for their tremendous Hachnosos Orchim (as anyone who ever spent even one Shabbos in New Square can easily attest to.)
I agree with ALL of the above. I also respect all Jews who are themselves respectful, tolerant, and show Ahavas Yisroel.

I respect the irreligious who identify as Jews.
I would like to put in a nomination for respect for the Jews who serve in the US military, helping to keep the world safe, and protecting the many freedoms, including unprecedented freedom of religion that so many of us enjoy in America.
My stepson is currently in Basic Military Training with the US Air Force and I respect and appreciate his decision to join. Hatzlacha Rabah to him as he goes off into the wild blue yonder.
I respect the Reform movement, without which many nominally religious Jews would have no choice but to become Unitarians.
I respect popa_bar_abba for his vast knowledge of Torah and for sometimes being not over the top, and posting meaningful threads.
I respect irrelgious Jews who have respect for religious Jews.
And I have tremendous respect for all Ba’alei Teshuva and for all people who dedicate time to kiruv, professional or otherwise.
And I respect Oomis for his well-stated opinion.
I respect all frum Yidden.
I respect people who kept the Torah and all the mitzvos all their lives.
To the members of the US and Soviet militaries who liberated WW II concentration camps, Many of them were very young men who could never have dreamed of the horrors they would see, hear, small and feel. Those horrors would haunt their dreams for the rest of their lives.
I respect the Chabad shluchim who go into the lions’ den (colleges) to find the pintele yids.
During a meal while I was in seminaryI saw a riot going on and my hostess commented to me that although we may not agree with what they are doing, look at their determination. Look at what they are willing to sacrifice in order to send the message they want to send. They are willing to get throw in to jail, trampled be embarrassed, and even push off their Shabbos meals’ in order to defend what they believe.
When I see that I think- would I be willing to give that up if I saw something going against what I believe and stand for? I’m not sure….
Again, I not stating my opinion on whether or not I agree with it, but would I have that determination?)

Having grown up in ashkenazic yeshivos, being a sefardi, working in crown heights and boro park and davening at a shul for Israeli Baalei teshuva, I’ve seen ’em all and all I can say is I see that when you put all of them together- each with their strengths and attributes- I see an entire nation of one full, perfect being. Now if only we can feel the same way about those who are different than us, we’d bring the geula!My experiences have forced me to be more open minded and see people for their strengths and I thank Hashem daily for these opportunities. As I like to say, “it’s easy to find faults in others because there are so few of them, while the good parts of a person are too numerous to be able to put your finger on!”

I respect chassidim in their strong emunah in Hashem; and that goes for all frum Yidden. Blindly following our mesorah without questioning the BOSS.
Please don’t attack my use of the word blindly anyone. I mean, blind as when we don’t have the full picture and we anyways don’t always understand the rationale behind some mitzvos but we do them anyways.
I respect Holocaust survivors who remained frum and maintained Emunah after everything they went through, without them most of us wouldnt be here!

Can I extend our respect to certain Groups of non-Jews whom I respect?
I respect Ashkenazim for their keeping the fire of Torah burning bright for the last millennium. And for willing to sacrifice their lives rather than submit to heresy or away from traditions.
I respect the brave Jews living in Chevron and the shtachim for their Ahavat Eretz Yirael and zrizut!
I respect Chabad Shluchim for getting down and dirty in places where very few Jews tread. They are always there to help a wayward Yid anytime any place.
I’ll repeat what has already been noted by others, but its worth a repeat:
I respect Chassidim who stick to their levush, even in 90 degree weather
I respect baale teshuva who leave behind a way of life (and often family / friends) in their quest for yiddishkeit.
And a special shout-out to Popa_bar_Abba for creating a thread that gets us to focus on what brings us together. It has made me rethink the tone of a thread I was posting on, and instead of taking the low road in future posts, I’ll opt for the high one.
I respect the CR moderators for their tolerance and respect of all legitimate opinions, whether they personally agree with them, and even when it is not politically correct to do so.
