In every person’s babyhood, there is a stage where he or she often feels an urge to stick his/her fingers in another person’s mouth, and he/she will usually act upon that urge. Sometimes, perhaps due to trauma as an infant, a child becomes fixated in this stage for life. We call them dentists.

What about orthodontists? What did they do to turn out the way they did?

Orthodontists are the ones who stuck metal tools into people’s mouths as babies.

This thread is inexcusable. Rabbi Yid you owe everyone in the coffee room an apology.

I thought this thread would be about making sure to get your kids braces otherwise their teeth will go off the derech.

My name was misspelled. And I apologize that some people on the CR, excluding myself of course, are idiots who complain about everything their feeble brains cannot comprehend.

The only thing I can think about related to both child-rearing and (possibly) dentistry is what we see in the Haggaddah regarding the Wicked Son.

    #1028287

    I gave out THICK matzo to one son “????? ?? ?????.. ??? ???”

oomis, the only mention of teeth is as part of an idiom.

Thank you, reb yid, for opening up my eyes to this phenomenon. I will tell people who want their children to have jobs to simply stick their children’s fingers (or metal paraphernalia) into others’ mouths. And I will tell anyone who doesn’t want a tooth-pulling, insurance-draining, time-consuming, pain-creating child to pull out their children’s fingers from the above-mentioned mouths.

And then there are people who didn’t do that and find going to the dentist a chore.

Another very important dental tip to parents. Make sure you’re kid doesn’t chew on his pet rock

    Or on yours.

    #1028296

My pet rock is porous, it will just crumble and his teeth would be fine.

So for the sake of your rock, don’t allow it to happen.

    #1028298

I keep my rock in a cool, dry place to keep it safe. But all parents should make sure to keep pet rocks away from children as they are a choking hazard

Some pet rocks are too large.

    #1028300

    So put away the children

    #1028301

my pet rock has graduated stony brook university! problem is, he does not want to go to work yet he just wants to play rock and roll so I told him A rolling stone gathers no boss.
