It’s a shame that neither party can come up with better candidates than Harris and Trump.

I’m voting my conscience and writing in Nikki Haley. At least I’ll vote for the best candidate.

Then your vote is worthless and your wasting your time cause everyone knows that she’s not going to win and already dropped out of the race and she is now a supporter of Trump.

Don’t waste your time and as crazy as these 2 candidates are of Trump and Harris at least your vote of the better of the 2 will help Trump win a better chance.

Abstaining or voting for a protest candidate means you are equally happy with Harris and Trump, and believe they will follow similar policies on the issues that matter to you. If your big concern is need for a balanced budget (the late Tea Party’s agenda), you are probably right. On most other issues, you are probably wrong, though on international relations both candidates are trying to avoid taking a strong stand either way.

I understand exactly where you are coming from. Nikki Haley is conservative, smart, pro-Israel, level-headed, a decent person, and well-spoken. She is among a small number of politicians who I respect. I very much hoped she’d be the Republican nominee and then be elected President.

However, I believe your plan to vote for her as a write-in is a mistake. Here’s why: She’s not going to win, and you’re throwing your vote away. Right now, our brothers and sisters in Israel are fighting an existential war against a cruel, barbaric, and evil enemy, one that has already taken hundreds of soldiers’ lives and the lives of over 1,000 civilians. If one candidate is more likely than the other to send Israel weapons that can save our fighters’ lives, shoot down rockets, drones, and missiles launched by our enemies at our cities, and defeat anti-Israel measures in the U.N. then I will vote for that candidate – IMO it’s literal pikuach nefesh. I have relatives in the IDF who’ve fought in battles you’ve read about in the news and I’ve been told firsthand that getting the appropriate weaponry without delay literally makes a life-or-death difference. Whether I like the candidates or not, I’ll vote for the one who’s most helpful (or least harmful) of the two. Even if the election was between David Duke and Rashida Tlaib (c”v) I’d still make a choice rather than just throw up my hands and say they’re both horrible.

If you happen to live in a state that’s a no-doubter, i.e. either the Republican or Democrat is sure to win by a large margin, then you may have the choice of lodging a protest vote. But if there’s even a chance that your state is in play, please don’t throw away your vote.

I plan on b”n voting for Donald Trump. Not because he’s won a popularity contest in my mind, not because I think he’s a great and good person, but simply for the reason I gave above. Either way, regardless of who wins the election, we certainly have what to daven for.

and then you endorse the Shlump !
    are you for real?
Biden (and by association, also Harris) has sent tons of arms to Israel over the last 10 months. They just agreed to send 10billion dollars worth of arms in addition.
And you go for that Putz?

How quickly we Jews forget that President Donald Trump
was not merely pro-Israel; he was THE MOST
pro-Israel USA President of all time.

How quickly we Jews forget that President Donald Trump
was not merely pro-Jewish; he was THE MOST
pro-Jewish USA President of all time.

As USA President, Donald Trump was more pro-Israel
and more pro-Jewish than the majority of USA Jews!

In the next USA Presential election, THE MOST pro-Israel
USA President of all time, Donald Trump, will compete against
a person who wants to become the MOST anti-Israel President
    OF ALL TIME, Kamala Harris.

Given that the MOST pro-Israel candidate OF ALL TIME is
competing against the MOST anti-Israel candidate OF ALL TIME,
you might think that American Jews would ALL vote for
the MOST pro-Israel candidate OF ALL TIME, and reject
the MOST anti-Israel candidate OF ALL TIME.

But no! No! No! No! A thousand times NO!
That would be too logical!! That would make too much sense!!

American Jews have become very distracted by countless other issues,
many of them of minor importance or even totally irrelevant.

Because of these numerous distractions, and the confusion they create,
a large percentage of American Jews will vote for
the MOST anti-Israel candidate OF ALL TIME, and reject
the MOST pro-Israel candidate OF ALL TIME.

This a super-massive mistake, especially when Israel
is under intense attack, not only militarily, but also from:
the international news media, the International Criminal Court,
and as always, the United Nations Organization, and many others.

Not all states allow write in votes or gave restrictions.
In CT (where I have been an Asst Registrar of voters for decades) you can only write in a name that has previously registered with the Secretary of State as a write in candidate. If you write in a name that has not been preregistered and qualified, your ballot will not be counted by the tabulating machine

I go to vote as a civic duty, to show my children that it is important, and to lift the numbers of votes in frum neighborhoods for the purpose of local and state political clout. I see no reason, especially in a state where my vote won’t matter in terms of the Electoral college, to give my presidential vote to people who don’t reflect my values. I will write in someone that I admire or think is closest in terms of values. Either that, or I’ll leave it up to my kids to choose someone and get them more involved.

you repeat the same mantra over and over again. i guess you learned that if you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth.
exactly what in your eyes makes trump so pro-israel? that he moved the embassy? whoopie doo ! how many countries followed his lead? practically none. so what was accomplished? more antisemitism, that’s what.
and how do you know that kamala is the most anti-israel candidate of all time? because you say so, it is? ever hear what carter, bush and others have said about jews and israel? i’m sure not.
and the fact that biden (and by extension also kamala) keeps sending arms to israel (for 10 months , no less) has no meaning for you? feh !

Several months ago, I decided not to vote because Trump seemed unhinged and angry at the entire world (including Israel), and Biden also wasn’t too pro-Israel.

However, recent events have changed my mind. Harris is clearly dangerously anti-Israel and Trump seems much more moderate and pro-Israel then he did last year, so now I will definitely vote for him.

    #2306102

Anyone who really cares about the election should move to PA and register to vote. Nothing new here. I was reading about elections in Latvia in 1920s-30s, and there were trains of Jewish voters from several parties going from one district to another to maximize their chances against each other. I am not sure that was legal though.

It’s nice to see that at least one commentator here has remembered that the Biden Harris administration has sent hundred of millions of dollars worth of munitions to Isreal the past months.

All talk about the requirement for Hakaras Hatov never applied to Democrats, interestingly enough.

I dislike Democrats. Deeply. But I happen to dislike dishonesty more. Sure Biden has never been a friend to isreal in the past. But we owe him a tremendous debt of Hakaras Hatov for how he acted since October 7, for the most part.

AAQ: Not really. There are only about 33,000 Dems attending the DNC convention in Chicago this week plus the approximately 4.5 million Illinois residents registered as Democrats. That means there are still over 77 million Democrats in the other 49 states to make your life miserable this week. Sorry to rain on your parade.

    Maskil,

After October 7th, Brandon made statements supporting Israel and promised them munitions. Over the past eight months he’s repeatedly stabbed them in the back at the U.N. and during negotiations, then delayed vital arms shipments. Worthless VP Kamalek has done absolutely nothing and can only form an intelligible sentence when criticizing Israel and supporting its detractors.

    #2307014

Pres Biden indeed is positive towards Israel, especially comparing with people around him. It seems that he is first naturally inclined to support Israel and after that course-corrects to take his political interests into account. This was actually a selling point before 2020 elections targeting Israel-minded voters – that Obama people viewed Israel as occupier first, while Biden knew what Yom Kippur war was and understood Israel’s risks. I think this argument is largely true.

“Ironically” (or hypocritically?), there is a new argument now (opposite of the old one) – that Biden could not influence the crazy anti-Israeli youth, but Kamala can, as a Black/Indian/Batcrazy leader that those other crazies will relate to, so she is now best lord/lady protector of the Jews … Just shows how it is easy to be fooled, especially if you want to.

    #2307016

He’s also gone the longest of any president before pressing for a cease-fire, including Republicans, and has given an insane amount of munitions. We’ll both have our talking points and go back and forth forever. He’s not the best and he’s not the worst, just like Trump

    #2307027

we don’t know about kamalah yet, but as for biden, he has sent tons and tons and more tons of arms to israel. he delayed them?, that’s poppycock, he sent and sent and even went to israel at start to give them chizuk. stabbed them at the u.n.? maybe voted once, and only once, with the u.n. mob, but most of the time he vetoed every single anti-israel proposal.
so where is your hakoras hatov? saving it for the Putz who moved the embassy (whoopie doo)? shame on you.

    yechiell,

Sorry to inconvenience you with the truth, but there were 101 arms shipments to Israel in the first four months of the war which were then cut to 52 over the next five months, despite Israel’s desperate requests. This was due to Brandon and his lackeys pressuring Israel to agree to the cease fire they were negotiating while lying to them about the details.

The details of U.S. Arms shipments to EY are readily available on the DOD website as well as in the routine notices of shipments to the House and Senate Armed Services Committees. The “number” of shipments is a totally mindless and irrelevant metric since their value and contents is what counts. A single delivery of an F-18 is valued considerably more than a dozen shipments of artillery shells.
As of June 30th, there were only 3 shipments being withheld or delayed. Two were because of supply chain/logistic issues issues and the other being the frequently cited shipment of 2,000 lb bombs. The value of arms shipped since October 7th is over $7 billion.

Non-politicians speaking Tuesday at DNC included:

Jack Carter (Grandson of President Jimmy Carter)

    Jack Schlossberg (grandson of JFK)

    Both possible future politicians

Kyle Sweetzer, firmer Trump voter who jumped ship

Stephanie Grisham, former White House Press Secretary for Trump (political appointee but not a politician

    Nabela Noor (internet content creator)

    Kenneth Stribling (retired Teamster)

    Ken Chennault (business executive)

    Ana Navarro (media personality)

The vast majority of speakers are politicians which is as it should be at a political convention. Speeches are aimed at delegates and guests who are supporting the party, not the general public.

HATERS: Masked Anti-Israel Protesters Crash Agudah Antisemitism Event At DNC

A handful of anti-Israel protesters have briefly disrupted an event organized by an Orthodox Jewish group on the sidelines of the Democratic National Convention.

The Agudath Israel of America event focuses on growing electoral strength of the Orthodox Jewish community and rising antisemitism in the US.

While the event only mentions Israel in passing, a handful of masked, far-left protesters chant, “Brick by brick, wall by wall, Zionism has got to fall” and shout “shame on you” at participants.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Bill and Hillary Clinton were known as
two of the most scandal-plagued politicians in the entire history
of the United States of America. By an amazing series of
co-incidences, dozens of people who knew the secrets of
the Clintons committed suicide (or what APPEARED to be suicide).

Bill Clinton was known as “The Scofflaw President”.
Just in case you do not remember, a scofflaw is
a person who is constantly violating The Law.

Because we live an upside-down world, and also
because Americans have very short memories,
Bill and Hillary Clinton are now considered to be the
highly-respected elder statesmen of the Democratic Party.
Even worse, Hillary Clinton nearly became President!

Since Bill and Hillary Clinton were suspected in many dozens
of scandals and crimes, and never spent even one day in jail,
they are certainly the perfect people to
serve as mentors to the corrupt Democratic Party.

Regardless of what their faults were, Bill and Hillary Clinton
can at least claim, honestly, that they never hated America.
That makes them better Barack and Michelle Obama,
    who do hate America.

The members of “The Squad” (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez,
Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, etc) hate America and its allies
(especially Israel) even more than the Obamas ever did.
