My hands are so smooth and silky because I am ADDICTED to Vaseline. If you guys wanna buy some dope, I got a case of Metamucil in my trunk.
poking fun of serious issues such as drug misuse is VERY wrong, and is a sign of immaturity.

Lev: I had a brother who was 100% normal, the cream of the crop, who became a completely different person, thanks to drugs. We are lucky he is alive, but the real him is not really alive, so….careful with these matters, as it is a frightening situation indeed.
Um…. Okay, I could see how that might be funny, but after what I’ve read about people melting candy in a pot with juice and Robitussin, I just can’t bring myself to laugh.
I know someone who died laughing, so no one should ever make a joke.

Perhaps we do not need to remove this thread. We might have someone in the know present the statistics of overdoses within the frum community for just this year alone. Then we add the numbers of those who have encountered other medical problems but survived. Next the number of arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. We might also include the emergency room admissions for alcohol or drug intoxication (Hatzoloh would have some records of this though there are plenty of cases that avoid Hatzoloh and call other ambulances). Lastly, we should list the number of frum clients/patients in inpatient and outpatient treatment for addiction.
We are not talking of an epidemic, but addiction is far from scarce. It is very far from a laughing matter.
There is a big difference between poking fun of someone, and making a joke. Coming from someone who is definitely over sensitive, I think you are over reacting.
