If You Were Discovered…

Smartcookie – no! i only know one person on here, and that person knows who i am and that’s it. I have NO CLUE who anyone else is and i don’t think anyone else knows who i am. (at least i hope so!)

people have found me out but i don’t care. i’m proud of my opinions and anyone who doesn’t like them stays away from me (personal experience). and if they stay away from me then it certainly makes no difference one way or another if they know ;).

cb1 – i WOULD mind if other people besides this one has found out who i am. One of the best things about this is that its anonymous. and i can post my true opinion, and people will argue/agree and discuss all anonymously.

Although i don’t think i’ve ever posted something that is out of character for myself, sometimes i have something to share, but i’m scared that someone who knows me will put everything together and chap who i am. Basically sometimes my opinions or comments would be too revealing.

I’d reply that while I do occasionally post to that web site, I do so anonymously and have no plans to confirm or deny authorship of a particular item.

I’d like my ideas to be judged on their merit and not on someone’s opinion of me personally. Similarly, I would not want someone to pigeon hole my views based on posts I made on other issues.

Which leads us to the question, what are Kasha’s other screennames?

I would tell you, but then I would have to kill you.

Heh. Someone here just emailed me this week and told me that they figured out who I am. And they were right. I know who the person is IRL, but I don’t know who s/he is on the boards. 🙂

Funny, as LAST sunday I was in Monsey, but THIS sunday, I might go bike riding.

i know some people here…ive been “outed” as it were…everyone i know knows my username is always bombmaniac so when they see it they know it’s me, i have nothing to hide. what i post here is what i absolutely believe (including the letzanus :D)and i will defend it in real life as well as online.

Same here, Bomb. The trouble is, my kids / wife think its weird to have conversations with people that I cannot see, and also, the whole “chat room” concept gets a bad rap in Bklyn, so for their sake, I try to stay under the radar. Fact is, if any of my “real world” friends read any of my posts, they’d spot me in a minute. One of them even has YWN as his homepage. Talk about seeing the forrest, but missing the trees.

Sometimes i wonder if anyone can figure me out- i try not to get too personal, but you never know!

And BPT- its very possible you pass me on the street so if you figure me out don’t tell anyone!

I WAS kind of outed once, and I do not really care. I am not embarrassed by what I say, I try to be respectful, and really try to sound intelligent (though at times, I might fall short), so why should I care if “someone” knows who I am?

I highly doubt anyone can figure me out- except for one friend who called me after my first post and figured out who I was. I would tell you who she is but have to ask her first. Then you guys can tell me if we are similar and fit into the same category! I highly doubt anyone else knows who I am (i have some friends who know my usename but they never go online so they wouldn’t know!)

That “wagon” riddle is driving me nuts. I’m not due back in the area for another few weeks, so hopfully when I go, the “wagon” is still there.

And Oomis – I fully believe that in one angle or another, we will cross orbits when I start doing shidduchim. Just a hunch, but that’s my guess. Either an aunt, or macheteneste, or a neighbor, or co-worker. Somehow, I just see it on the horizon.

You’re being very cryptic but I think I know what you’re talking about. I’m not a member of any “society” as of now (hopefully soon I will be though). (I still have no idea what the “wagon” refers to.)

In any case the “society” that I’m trying to get membership in lists all the members of the other “society” in its directory. (They also publish a yearbook listing all the members of both societies.)

Being that I can’t think of anyone my mothers age asking the ==>>Monkey Riddle<<== I’ll have to agree that we don’t know each other.

Hmm. lets see Blink; Based on what you’ve told us in the CR, I can construct the folloing bio:

Twenty-something, articulate, sem grad, lives in somewhere in NYC, (probably Bklyn, but possibly Queens. Not chassidish, probably wore her hair in a pony thru HS (possibly still does during the week) and down for shabbos, and is probably some sort of special ed profesional. Non-confrontational type, but has strong convictions, and can express her opinion clearly and convincingly when called for.
