What would you do if you suddenly found out that the other poster in the Coffee Room whose views you most furiously and severely disagree with and whom you’ve been regularly and bluntly arguing against in this forum for years, on virtually all topics and in the most strongest terms, is your spouse or your parent or your child?

In the past 40+ years I’ve known more than a dozen Orthodox Jewish Lawyers who have held elected positions in suburban CT. This includes towns/cities such as West Hartford, Bloomfield, Stamford, Norwalk, Westport, Fairfield and others I shall not name.
Most of these elected positions are part time on Boards and Commissions or the town legislature. They are without pay, In addition I knew such people serving in cities such as New Haven, Waterbury, Norwich, New London, Bridgeport. Not all of these have an orthodox community anymore. Some such as Bridgeport are cities in their own right, but also commuting suburbs of New YorkCTL: and married off a daughter at a pretty specific time? And who’s MIL passed away on a specific date? And who’s wife (who’s an architect btw) will IY”H undergo surgery soon? Sorry, I don’t know you, but anyone who does and is active in the CR has already figured out who you are. Most likely not too many people in your circles are avid Coffee Roomers though, so no worries. Unless you changed some facts here to protect your identity, you’ve shared way too much to feign anonymity. (Which I don’t think you did for various reasons).

CTL; What you’re saying would made it quite difficult for the average CR poster to identify you. However if Joseph was your son he would definitely have identified you by all the personal details you’ve mentioned over the course of time. Nice bedtime story though. Also don’t potch too hard or Joseph’s personal injury attorneys will be in touch with you forthwith.

I’d feel bad about being confrontational.
But I would still love whomever it turns out to be… I already have a family member whose political opinions are completely opposite of mine.
We’re all brothers and sisters.
I think we all (myself included) need to consider that when considering what, and to a larger extent, how, we write to another poster.
