…and if Clinton becomes president, I’m moving to New Square.
March 10, 2016 5:35 pm at 5:35 pm #1190551JosephParticipantToronto or Montreal? (If the latter, you may one day end up in the Republic of Quebec.)
March 10, 2016 5:41 pm at 5:41 pm #1190552zahavasdadParticipantDo you need help packing?
March 10, 2016 5:52 pm at 5:52 pm #1190553HealthParticipantDY – Why not to Lakewood? About 4 or 8 years ago, some people here did a ($) reception for Hillary. She owes them!
March 10, 2016 6:04 pm at 6:04 pm #1190554☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantJoseph, New Square isn’t in either.
ZD, can’t wait for me to leave?
Health, where did she get a higher percentage of votes?
March 10, 2016 6:11 pm at 6:11 pm #1190555zahavasdadParticipantMaybe you need a chessed? Always ready to do a Mitzvah
March 10, 2016 6:14 pm at 6:14 pm #1190556☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantShkoyach.
I’ll keep it mind. I still have a few months (and still hoping for Cruz to succeed).
March 10, 2016 6:15 pm at 6:15 pm #1190557homerMemberRRRRiiiggghhhtttt.. . . . . . Because Trudeau is MUCH better 🙂
March 10, 2016 6:18 pm at 6:18 pm #1190558☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThe grass is always greener…
March 10, 2016 6:20 pm at 6:20 pm #1190559zahavasdadParticipantThere is no grass in Canada, Its too cold there. Everything is white from the snow
March 10, 2016 6:23 pm at 6:23 pm #1190560☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantBTW, Joseph, I’m surprised at you. R’ Avigdor Miller zt”l was a big proponent of voting based on values and morals, and you’re a R’ Avigdor Miller talmid. I don’t know how you can support Trump over Clinton. As bad as Clinton is, Trump is much worse. He is a vulgar person who has said things publicly which should absolutely disgust any person of morals. There’s no way he would support Trump. The only question is whether he would simply say not to vote.
March 10, 2016 6:28 pm at 6:28 pm #1190561JosephParticipantClinton publicly announced her support of a serial immoralist who was worse than Trump. And he was in the most public position while conducting his acts of gross immorality.
You’re right in everything you just pointed out about Trump. And I do not support him. But if it comes down to Trump vs. Clinton, I’m not convinced Clinton is any better on these counts. I also (generally) believe in voting for the lesser of the two evils.
March 10, 2016 6:39 pm at 6:39 pm #1190562☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI know you don’t support him, I said support him over Clinton.
You can’t compare her supporting an immoral person to him actually being an immoral person. (I mean publicly; privately, who knows? Maybe she’s even worse.)
March 10, 2016 6:41 pm at 6:41 pm #1190563JosephParticipantIt’s also not PC to say it too loud these day, but being non-PC I can also add that I don’t believe women should be in a public position. <gasp>
March 10, 2016 6:49 pm at 6:49 pm #1190564JosephParticipantShe publicly supported — and for heaven’s sake continues to be married to! — him and defended him from those very acts of gross immorality. She defended him from his victims. Look, we can argue over who is worse on this count and I recognize that a fair argument could be made that Trump is worse on this point. But considering that she is no innocent even on this count, we have to also take into account the broader picture where she is much worse than him overall on public policy positions. And if in power she’ll, to take an example, appoint Supreme Court justices (and lower judges) who will cause graver long-term social damage to the nation than Trump appointees (in my opinion.)
March 10, 2016 6:55 pm at 6:55 pm #1190565☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantHis indiscretions were not supposed to be public and she never supported them, just him, which is not such a terrible thing.
I have no confidence in who Trump may or may not nominate, or for that matter, in any actions he would take as president.
March 10, 2016 7:01 pm at 7:01 pm #1190566nishtdayngesheftParticipantHillary is probably more dishonest than the Donald and more arrogant than Trump (as hard as that is really to fathom).
They are both terrible.
Trump says he hasn’t taken sides on Israel, Hillary kisses Arafat.
They are both terrible and horrible. Clinton is known to take payoffs, while Trump is only known for making payoffs.
We know Clinton can be swayed
Perhaps cattle futures (she can get the “Pork” for Pork Bellies) or a land deals or contributions to the Clinton Foundation, all methods that she has employed successfully.
March 10, 2016 7:04 pm at 7:04 pm #1190567JosephParticipantWell, his indiscretions were public and well-known before he became President and he continued them in the Oval Office! And she’s married to that debauchee. Offhand I seem to recall that if someone is evil or in cherem, halacha essentially carries over his status and/or excommunication to his wife. And she herself strongly supported toeiva marriage (a position I don’t think Trump took) and other overt acts of public policy support for immorality.
And I do think that Trump will be overall bad as President but that Clinton will be worse. It is a very close call though and I could be wrong. (How’s that for humble pie?)
March 10, 2016 7:55 pm at 7:55 pm #1190568takahmamashParticipantWhy not move to E”Y? There’s a mitzvah to live here, and it’s better for your soul than Canada can ever be.
March 10, 2016 10:47 pm at 10:47 pm #1190569TRUEBTParticipantI agree with Takahmamash – EY is a better option.
March 10, 2016 11:22 pm at 11:22 pm #1190570☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantYes, that’s true. If I really felt the need to move, I would put Eretz Yisroel on top of my list.
March 11, 2016 12:05 am at 12:05 am #1190571JosephParticipantIn any event, the reality is Trump will not become President. He will very likely be the nominee. And he will then lose to Clinton.
March 11, 2016 12:11 am at 12:11 am #1190572squeakParticipantI don’t think Trump will be bad for the US as president. I do think Hillary will. Try to imagine each one in office for 4 years, and tell me what you think has changed in that interim.
March 11, 2016 1:41 am at 1:41 am #1190573👑RebYidd23ParticipantHillary: Just like Bill. We survived that.
Trump: Renames the White house Trump Manor, repaints it and installs bright flashing lights. Spends all of the governments money on deporting Mexicans and bringing them back. Increased discrimination against Muslims, tension between the Muslim and black communities because Trump uses blacks to show that he isn’t racist. The United States is at war with Mexico because Mexico doesn’t want to pay for that wall.
March 11, 2016 1:44 am at 1:44 am #1190574CopyMachineParticipantI’m not so much into politics, but I did notice that this year we have a very Purimdiga lineup running for the role of the country’s Head Honcho.
If these are our representatives, what does that say about the commonfolk???
March 11, 2016 2:15 am at 2:15 am #1190575squeakParticipantHillary – expands Obamacare and medicaid, giving free health insurance to anyone and everyone. Introduces mandatory paid extended leave for employees at all companies, causing small business to tear at the seams. Increases minimum wage to $20/hour, grants automatic amnesty and full entitlements to all immigrants documented or otherwise. Refuses to take any action against rabid and armed middle eastern countries or take the North Korean threat seriously, leading to South Korea being annexed and turned communist. Pushes Israel into giving back yet more land and restores the 1948 borders. Donates 85% of the US military budget to Doctors Without Borders. Bursts our eardrums every time she wants to add emphasis during an address.
Now you guys do Trump. The worst I can think of is that he;d put bobble-heads of himself in every room in the White House.
March 11, 2016 2:25 am at 2:25 am #1190576screwdriverdelightParticipantWhat you said Hillary would do to Israel is applicable by Trump as well.
March 11, 2016 2:26 am at 2:26 am #1190577screwdriverdelightParticipantBursts our eardrums every time she wants to add emphasis during an address.
I mean, please. At least write the parallel by Trump.
March 11, 2016 3:03 am at 3:03 am #1190578squeakParticipantA bit of independent thought would be a way to add to the conversation.
March 11, 2016 3:19 am at 3:19 am #1190579screwdriverdelightParticipantomg, squeak, you just left my good books, never to come back.
March 11, 2016 3:22 am at 3:22 am #1190580yehudayonaParticipantIt’s interesting to ponder how any of the four front runners (Clinton, Sanders, Trump, and Cruz) will deal with a Congress that basically hates all of them. I predict four more years of impasse.
March 11, 2016 4:30 am at 4:30 am #1190581👑RebYidd23ParticipantIf Hillary is dishonest, that’s a plus. She says bad things.
March 15, 2016 4:36 am at 4:36 am #1190582charliehallParticipant“Clinton publicly announced her support of a serial immoralist who was worse than Trump.”
Obviously you along with many frum Jews have not paid attention to the tabloid media’s long documentation of Trump’s many affairs, which led to two divorces, or the accusations of his first wife against him, or his current wife’s absolutely non-tzniut modeling career. None of that news is suitable for a frum home.
But you should at least be aware of Trump’s business ventures into beauty pageants and casinos, both of which are completely against Jewish values, and his abuse of eminent domain and bankruptcy laws which our tradition would consider to be borderline if not outright theft.
And of course there are his supporters who include Louis Farrakhan, Mike Tyson, and David Duke.
March 15, 2016 9:59 am at 9:59 am #1190583rabbiofberlinParticipantcharliehall: Not only do I fully agree with you but this election cycle has turned me from being a conservative into a Democrat. The Republican Party deserves to be out of power for the next thirty years,in light of this horrendous primary season. Trump is , at best, a Dixiecrat and, at worse a Mussolini with bad hair.
March 15, 2016 10:28 am at 10:28 am #1190584☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantCharlie, if somehow Clinton were running against one of the other Republicans, one with a clean reputation, who would you vote for?
March 15, 2016 2:17 pm at 2:17 pm #1190586kfbParticipantI moved to Canada back in ’08 when obama became president. I hope to move back to the US by end of the year
March 15, 2016 2:30 pm at 2:30 pm #1190587DaMosheParticipantWhen it comes to being somewhat moral, I think Sanders is the best. He’s more honest than most politicians, and he stands by what he believes in. It’s a shame I disagree so strongly with his positions.
Clinton is a pathological liar. M’dvar sheker tirchak – stay away from her!
Trump has no filter, and yes, he says some crazy things. But he’s (for the most part) also honest about things, brutally so at times. I’d much rather have him than a pathological liar or a Communist. While I’m not a fan of his, I think he’s the lesser evil.
March 15, 2016 3:16 pm at 3:16 pm #1190588apushatayidParticipantanyone need help packing?
March 15, 2016 4:23 pm at 4:23 pm #1190589TRUEBTParticipantTo YehudaYona,
I don’t think Sanders is “hated” by Congress. They may disagree with him, but he is able to engage in civil discourse better than any other candidate. What’s more, there are significant numbers of Sanders Republicans. Just on the issue of Citizens United, look at this article from last summer:
“Sen. Bernie Sanders is often characterized by the media as an out of the mainstream presidential candidate, but a new CBS/New York Times poll revealed that 80% of Republicans agree with Sanders on the issue of getting money out of politics.
The CBS/NYT poll found that:
All of these positions are held by Bernie Sanders, and the opinion of the majority on each question is the exact opposite of the reasoning used by the majority of the Supreme Court in the Citizens United decision.”
March 15, 2016 4:27 pm at 4:27 pm #1190590rabbiofberlinParticipantDaMoshe: sadly, you are another proof how the huckster is bamboozling the good citizens of our republic. Honest about things? Such as fooling gullible people to enroll in a fraudulent University? Such as having all of his crummy ties made in China yet claiming he is for the American worker? such as changing his stance on abortion more times than a windmill? Such as being a democrat all his life and becoming a republican because the democrats would have had the good sense to kick him out of their party? Yup- Honest Abe in person- after all, he says that the only President better than him is Abraham Lincoln…
He is much more dangerous than any other candidate running now- he is an extreme narcissist, an even bigger pathological liar than Ms. Clinton, a man with such thin skin that he would make Nixon’s list of enemies look like the Cliff notes for HIS list..I could go on and on. Trump is the absoluter last man on earth I would allow near the red button. And, of course, he has shown himself to be hostile to israel, regardless of his jewwish kin. Yeah, sure ,he is the “lesser evil” Hashem jishmereinu.
March 15, 2016 5:07 pm at 5:07 pm #1190591🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantrob – i won’t argue anything you say cuz there is no question Trump is so many things that aren’t good but Hilary has already killed some of our military personnel and then LIED to their mothers. To me, that pretty much rules her out as human, let alone feeling.
March 15, 2016 6:53 pm at 6:53 pm #1190592twistedParticipantVince Foster was a democrat, so he can vote from the grave. I am certain he would prefer Trump to Hillary.

September 5, 2016 9:46 am at 9:46 am #1190595Ex-CTLawyerParticipantI make no bones about being a liberal Dem who is involved in politics and was in attendance at the convention.
I personally know Both of the Clintons since there days at Yale Law School. Mrs. Clinton is a brilliant person with a trues grasp of national and world affairs and in the Senate showed she can work across the aisle to accomplish her agenda.
Trump is an opportunist, a failed businessman and husband. His multiple bankruptcies and pattern of not paying contractors in full for labor is despicable. He has no grasp of foreign policy, hires terrible advisors and if they don’t have the nerve to agree with him all the time he utters his famous ‘you fired’ and they are gone missing quite a bit of salary raised.
Trump has turned the campaign into a personal cash cow, enriching his companies and family. It would be an embarrassment to have Melania as First Lady. Bill Clinton may have had his sexual indiscretions years ago, but there are no disgusting nude photos of him circulating in the media.
Remember one thing, if President Obama had stood on the convention podium with 5 children born of three mothers white America would have torn him to shreds. Because Trump is supposedly wealthy (no tax returns released) his infidelity, multiple marriages to questionable women is excused. Grandpa Trump was a saloon keeper and pimp, running prostitutes in the Klondike. Daddy Trump was a housing magnate who discriminated against blacks. Donald is a serial adulterer, liar and failed businessman. You could send the whole clan back to their hometown in Germany and there’d be no loss to America. Just because one Trumpette had a conversion and married Jewish doesn’t sanitize the family.
September 5, 2016 12:55 pm at 12:55 pm #1190596Abba_SParticipantLet’s face it, unless you are independently wealthy you are not moving. Where are you going to move to, Israel, Europe or Canada, the taxes are much higher. South,Central America or Africa the crime is to high.
This election cycle most voters are not voting for the best candidate but which is the lesser of the two evils.
September 5, 2016 2:08 pm at 2:08 pm #1190597☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMy opinion of Trump since I started this thread is the same. My opinion of Clinton is even lower.
Anyone know of any Dan’s Deals glitches?
September 5, 2016 2:10 pm at 2:10 pm #1190598golferParticipantWith all due respect to the OP, Canada is not the solution.
It’s interesting following some of the posters trying to muster up support for their favored candidate (though I think gifting Mrs C with “a true grasp of national and world affairs” borders on the grotesque). As for me- they both sicken me to the core.
For a long time many of us (myself included) thought we could make a go of it in the Galus of the Goldeneh Medinah. With our voting rights and our free speech in the land of democracy and apple pie, things didn’t look so bad…
Much as it hurts me to express any appreciation to either of these two vile candidates, I feel I have to offer some Hakaras Hatov to both of them (while simultaneously holding my nose and trying not to gag).
They have done us a favor by showing us just how low a human being devoid of morals can sink, and for proving that the only logical solution is to daven hard to be redeemed from this long and painful Galus.

So when did they become criminals?!? Was it recently or years ago?
Did you ever hear of Vince Foster?!? How about emails with a private server from the Secretary of State?!? How about deaths of Americans in Libya?!?
The list goes on and on!
But make sure you vote for your Avodah Zora – DemonCrats!!!
September 5, 2016 3:02 pm at 3:02 pm #1190601yehudayonaParticipantBava Kamma 52a (just before the mishna) talks about a shepherd who is upset with his flock and appoints a blind goat to lead them. Rashi says it’s a mashul to Hashem arranging for the Jewish people to have a bad leader in order to punish them. I think we can extend that to America in this election.
