If I could only choose one physical feature in a potential shidduch, if that was the “deal” – only ONE – I’d choose a warm and friendly smile, used genuinely and often.
If I could choose only one character trait? An inner contentedness that allows and wants a spouse to succeed and be happy too.
Do you think that exists over 40?
In a previously married gentleman?
If not, I would rather continue smiling and encouraging others to find their respective strengths – single.
How do other CR members feel about this?
No harsh comments please; I’m kinda sensitive:)

August 20, 2013 12:46 am at 12:46 am #971456ChanieEParticipantI think that is beautiful! And in my experience, I think that in your age range you’re probably more likely to find these traits in someone who was previously married than in someone who never was, although there certainly are people who have not yet married who are happy and genuinely want others to be happy as well. Hatzlacha rabba!

August 20, 2013 7:39 am at 7:39 am #971459Oh Shreck!ParticipantEclipse,
I think I once wrote to you before (under my previous s/n a”h) there can be nice men too, of all ages. You’ll meet up with this pure “SELFISH” guy, intent at perfecting his character, his middas hachesed, he’ll end up using you for his goal. Pure selfishness! After all most opportunities of bestowing chesed, untold times, again and again, are with one’s spouse. He’ll couple with you for that purpose, to have someone to bestow chesed, to brighten someone’s life, to cheer, to make someone close and dear happy – ??? ???? ?????.

August 20, 2013 11:37 am at 11:37 am #971461LevAryehMemberI know someone who’s very much the man you describe, and he’s never been married. Due to the fact that there are no PMs on this website, nothing will ever come of the idea though.

August 20, 2013 9:04 pm at 9:04 pm #971464LevAryehMemberCould be. He’s in his low forties, but doesn’t look it. The guy is one of the sweetest, hard-working people I know. I don’t know where to go from here though.
