MAJOR HATE TOWARD THAT SONG! Pushing the agenda that its not the kids prob but the parents!!! (ik this is an old song but just heard it again)

But what about the so-called Jewish publications pushing ridiculous ideas for example, play therapy for adults.? It’s simply ridiculous how immersed and enmeshed some are in the secular culture and not realizing it.

I googled both “Ich Bin Berel” and “I am Berel” and found nothing. But I would admit that posting this is a halfway decent job of advertising, if that was your angle. So kudos to you.
And to expand on @philosopher’s point. Most music nowadays is just inane electric dentist drill sounds with a few catchy words on repeat, instantly forgettable once the next catchy boom boom comes out. Oh, I forgot the copy/paste insertion of “Thank You Hashem” somewhere in the lyrics.
August 20, 2024 11:33 am at 11:33 am #2307191besalelParticipantphilosopher: i hate to break it to you but every single song you have ever listened to in your entire life evolved from another song and every single “jewish” song you have ever listened to in your entire life evolved (sometimes immediately and sometimes after one or two generations) from a non-jewish song.
this idea that there is such a thing as “jewish music” and “non-jewish music” is a complete fabrication. the concept of there being something called “jewish sounding” music is a lie that made me lose my respect for certain rebbes i had growing up.
August 20, 2024 11:33 am at 11:33 am #2307199philosopherParticipantskripka, totally agree. One time on the “Jewish music app” I was listening to I heard a “singer” belting out, very emotionally, this line repeatedly “I aaammm fraaggiillle”… That song, like many others, sounded straight out of some wacko, ultra-liberal’s mouth. Then you have the chazer rap genre that “became kosher”… And the way the women sing today (I’m a female)… most of these female singers emit “kol isha” sounds that are more closely resembling witches singing with fake, ultra high soprano pitch that grate on the nerves. The music videos that come along with these stupid songs are singing in a dress shop or in the street ( how is singing and dancing in the streets tznius?!) And on the men’s side as well you have the inane videos that do not make any sense. The only song/music video that recently came out that is beautiful and genuine is תנו רבנן sung by Avraham Fried and Hershy Weinberger. The song and cinematography are both absolutely beautiful.

August 26, 2024 10:06 am at 10:06 am #2308766skripkaParticipantWaaaaaiiiittttt>…….. You think OP is talking about the Motty Illowitz song “Berel”? It could be, although no one hates it, everyone loves it. It’s a sung version of the famous Reader’s Digest joke where the lady in the grocery keeps saying “Calm down Susie” as her kid acts nuts, and then when a women compliments her about how well she parent’s her daughter Susie she says “My daughter’s Rachel, I’m Susie”. It’s a nice song, not sure where OP gets his agenda nonsense from.
August 26, 2024 3:10 pm at 3:10 pm #2308934faxParticipantI am talking about mutty illowitz song berel! yes there are two points in the song one was how he was keeping calm but along with that was that he didn’t stop his kid from acting the way he was, which he should’ve!
@besalel you may be right that song writers ideas come from old songs they heard but what your “rebbes” meant “jewish sounding songs” are those that inspire you to do good, feel the right way etc.
(btw YOU SHOULDNT LOSE RESPECT FOR SOMEONE just cuz YOU DISAGREE WITH ONE THING THEY SAID!!!)August 27, 2024 10:37 am at 10:37 am #2309050philosopherParticipantJust heard the song. I agree with the OP. This is not chinuch.
