Every inch of me hurts
Got a virus from my kid
It feels like Yom Kippur
I’m a very ill yid!
My nose and my ears
Mt throat and the rest
But I AM the Mommy
So there isn’t much rest
To look at the bright side
The kids did behave
They really tried hard
And their best shot they gave
Please One Above
Help me stop aching so
And I’ll try not to kvetch
About my “things to do” so!

January 30, 2011 6:38 pm at 6:38 pm #733943HealthParticipantDrink tea. Take chicken soup. Take zinc -Zicam works. Go for a throat culture. If the fever and chills came first, could be the flu. The flu can be diagnosed by a test in your doctor’s office. You can get medicine to treat the flu.

January 31, 2011 1:27 am at 1:27 am #733950Brooklyn YentaParticipantrefuah shelaima!
drink lots of tea, get plenty of rest (as much as the kids allow), and i find that a warm air vaporizer does wonders. also, sleep on two pillows.
January 31, 2011 2:29 am at 2:29 am #733951Midwest2ParticipantRefuah shleimah – and of course don’t forget the chicken soup and tea with lemon 🙂
January 31, 2011 1:36 pm at 1:36 pm #733952eclipseMemberI could hardly move since motzai shabbos. This morning after getting the kids off to school,I am left with a scene that seems to have frozen in time.Melave Malka food still on the table and stove, dishes in both sinks ’til the ceiling, laundry basket overflowing…I still feel sick, but a little better…although the work I have to do is daunting…
Thanks for all your good wishes and advice!
What company vaporizer is best?

January 31, 2011 8:33 pm at 8:33 pm #733955hanabMemberThere’s a berry called elder
Which many have found
Does wonders for viri
That seem to abound
Sambucol is one brand
Order from the health food store!
it also comes with zinc
echinecea and more
Refuah shlaima, I wish you
I’ve been there myself
And remember this berry
Keep it on your shelf!
It’s good for prevention
take one time each day
and when you are sick,
take four times they say!
January 31, 2011 8:57 pm at 8:57 pm #733956deiyezoogerMembergood poem. as of you the best cure to a cold is let your body fight it out itself. give it a few days and you’ll be fresh as new.
February 1, 2011 2:01 am at 2:01 am #733957eclipseMemberThank you again!
