August 14, 2011 2:57 am at 2:57 am #797721popa_bar_abbaParticipantmay we ask to where you moved?
Guess
August 14, 2011 2:59 am at 2:59 am #797722ObaminatorMemberGuess
NY.
Why’d you ignore my question??
August 14, 2011 3:02 am at 3:02 am #797723MiddlePathParticipantCongrats, popa! Are we now Midwestern buddies?
August 14, 2011 3:02 am at 3:02 am #797724Another nameParticipantBrooklyn (like everyone else)?
August 14, 2011 3:02 am at 3:02 am #797725popa_bar_abbaParticipantNot NY.
I ignored your question.
August 14, 2011 3:28 am at 3:28 am #797726oomisParticipantMazel tov on the move. Noo Joisey?
August 14, 2011 3:29 am at 3:29 am #797727popa_bar_abbaParticipantNot new jersey
August 14, 2011 3:41 am at 3:41 am #797728ObaminatorMemberYou’ve addressed everyone’s location guess (which you solicited) — except MiddlePath’s guess.
August 14, 2011 3:43 am at 3:43 am #797729brotherofursParticipantIsrael? 🙂
August 14, 2011 3:45 am at 3:45 am #797730popa_bar_abbaParticipantNot israel.
I didn’t address middlepaths guess, because it covers too large an area, and after 5 guesses I’d have to decide if I feel like telling you.
August 14, 2011 3:50 am at 3:50 am #797731gefenParticipantChicago?
August 14, 2011 3:52 am at 3:52 am #797732MiddlePathParticipantFair enough, popa.. Is it a state that touches one of the Great Lakes? (That narrows it down a little.)
August 14, 2011 3:54 am at 3:54 am #797733popa_bar_abbaParticipantNot chicago.
8 states touch the great lakes.
MN, WI, IL, IN, MI, OH, PA, NY.
So not telling
August 14, 2011 3:56 am at 3:56 am #797734brotherofursParticipanto come on 😉
August 14, 2011 4:00 am at 4:00 am #797735popa_bar_abbaParticipantMaybe tomorrow. I need to go to sleep. It is so late here.
August 14, 2011 4:12 am at 4:12 am #797736Another nameParticipantObaminator
That’t what you think 😉
August 14, 2011 4:14 am at 4:14 am #797737Another nameParticipant“It is so late here”
Is that a hint?
August 14, 2011 6:47 am at 6:47 am #797738ronrsrMemberCheyenne, Wyoming?
August 14, 2011 9:09 am at 9:09 am #797739kapustaParticipantI don’t know if this counts but I would guess a place that wouldn’t make it into the top 10 most popular guesses.
More importantly, did you take your car with you and how open minded are the people in this place?
State. And city.
How exactly would you move states without moving to a different city?
August 14, 2011 9:29 am at 9:29 am #797740HaQerMemberFargo, North Daakota
August 14, 2011 11:11 am at 11:11 am #797741ObaminatorMemberNew Square
August 14, 2011 11:17 am at 11:17 am #797742minyan galMemberPBA – Mazel Tov on your move. You and your family should only enjoy good health and happiness in your new home. I noticed a moving van unloading down the street from me on Thursday. Welcome to the neighborhood – you will love living in Canada. I shall be over with bread, salt and a cake later on today.
August 14, 2011 12:11 pm at 12:11 pm #797743popa_bar_abbaParticipantI took my car with me. Some of the people are open minded, and some are closed minded.
I sometimes have a different opinion of who is open minded. Sometimes, people who agree with me are closed minded, and just happen to agree. Sometimes, people who disagree are open minded, and just happen to disagree. Sometimes, I am closed minded.
August 14, 2011 12:19 pm at 12:19 pm #797744StamperMemberI’m glad you figured it out MG! Just make sure the bread is Pas Yisroel, I think PBA is stringent about that.
August 14, 2011 12:25 pm at 12:25 pm #797745popa_bar_abbaParticipantHmmm. Bread, salt, and cake.
I’ve never heard of that before.
August 14, 2011 12:36 pm at 12:36 pm #797746minyan galMemberPBA, around here it is customary to bring bread and salt to Yidden moving into a new home. I always take a cake to a new neighbour, (note Canadian spelling – you shall need to learn that)
regardless of their religion. Have you really never heard of taking bread and salt?
August 14, 2011 12:41 pm at 12:41 pm #797747popa_bar_abbaParticipantHave you really never heard of taking bread and salt?
Guilty as charged.
But come to think of it, I don’t think we have any salt, and we could probably use it.
August 14, 2011 2:56 pm at 2:56 pm #797748gefenParticipantSo are you really in Canada?
August 14, 2011 2:56 pm at 2:56 pm #797749oomisParticipantbread, that your home sghould always be filled with plenty, and salt for your life to always have flavor. Cake, just because what’s the point of life without cake? 😉
August 14, 2011 4:57 pm at 4:57 pm #797750popa_bar_abbaParticipantNo, not in canada. Although, I think I’d like to be neighbors with Minyan Gal.
August 14, 2011 5:14 pm at 5:14 pm #797751mikehall12382MemberToo bad you would have love canada
August 14, 2011 5:23 pm at 5:23 pm #797752minyan galMemberPBA, thanks for the compliment. I could use a nice, Jewish neighbour (Canadian spelling), as I don’t have any. One of neighbours asked if my mezzuzah was part of my alarm system. Also, I do bake very good cakes.
August 14, 2011 5:27 pm at 5:27 pm #797753popa_bar_abbaParticipantI once lived in Canada. For three years. In Ottowa.
(I should note that neither Minyan Gal nor Mikehall brought bread and salt that time.)
August 14, 2011 5:40 pm at 5:40 pm #797754minyan galMemberpopa, I would have brought you the appropriate offerings, but I have never been to Ottawa myself. I suppose that I should be embarassed at having never been to my nation’s capital, but I have never had a reason or opportunity. Go west young man.
August 14, 2011 5:46 pm at 5:46 pm #797755KIsh Echad BLev EchadMemberI think Popa’s just pulling our leg and claims he permanently moved to Cyberspace (Less taxes and you meet lots of people along the way). Even his recycle bin is digital now, so he’ll have free time on his hands…..
August 14, 2011 7:58 pm at 7:58 pm #797756ObaminatorMemberI just realized that PBA opened this thread Motzei Shabbos! We all know the implications of what that means…
August 14, 2011 8:22 pm at 8:22 pm #797757smileyface136MemberI saw a few moving vans as well. I like the bread and salt minhag… so if you moved to Baltimore, I’ll gladly bring you salt and bread.

August 14, 2011 11:09 pm at 11:09 pm #797760600 Kilo BearMemberHe moved to Creedmoor :)))))))))))))))! Creedmoor is a dimension of its own and it transcends physical place!
August 14, 2011 11:38 pm at 11:38 pm #797761KeenObserverMemberIt’s spelled “Ottawa”, not “Ottowa”. When did you live there? Do I know you? Did you go to OTI back in the day?
August 14, 2011 11:41 pm at 11:41 pm #797762minyan galMemberpba, have you found a good minyan to daven with in Nome? And if you think that it can get cold in Canada, just wait until your first far northern winter.
August 14, 2011 11:58 pm at 11:58 pm #797763bezalelParticipantIs it a state that touches one of the Great Lakes?
8 states touch the great lakes.
MN, WI, IL, IN, MI, OH, PA, NY.
So not telling
But only 5 of them touch one of the Great Lakes, the rest of them touch multiple lakes.
August 15, 2011 1:19 am at 1:19 am #797764Bar ShattyaMembernope. he lives in somalia. mogadishu to be exact. he went to help deliver aid.
