I just killed a mosquito. It tried to bite me, so I killed it. And if I see another i will kill that one too. So if you are a mosquito, stay away from me for your own sake.

Wrong! Al Pi Rov – the insect just wants a drop of BLOOD! Most of them don’t carry WNV.

July 15, 2015 9:46 pm at 9:46 pm #1092458☕️coffee addictParticipantthere’s an article in the features section of the hamodia about mosquitos
July 16, 2015 2:29 am at 2:29 am #1092459Little FroggieParticipantSince mosquitoes are full of human blood, I think one should be careful not to spill…
July 16, 2015 4:24 am at 4:24 am #1092460oomisParticipantThe mosquito is clearly coming to assault its victim. It therefore is a rodeif!
July 16, 2015 4:44 am at 4:44 am #1092461👑RebYidd23ParticipantLF, I prevented that by killing it before it bit me.
July 16, 2015 10:10 am at 10:10 am #1092462☕️coffee addictParticipantoomis,
in the article it states that only the females bite, so you don’t know if it’s male or female until it lands on you
July 16, 2015 12:37 pm at 12:37 pm #1092463takahmamashParticipantIn the almost 8 years since we made aliyah, I’ve killed two scorpions and two tarantulas in the house.
July 16, 2015 1:00 pm at 1:00 pm #1092464Little FroggieParticipantOomis – WB.
And since when did you join the silly side of the CR?
July 17, 2015 2:56 am at 2:56 am #1092465☕️coffee addictParticipantlf,

I have a Shaila – can you kill a mosquito on Shabbos, because it might have WNV?
July 20, 2015 12:25 am at 12:25 am #1092469☕️coffee addictParticipanthealth,
like i said before only the females bite (and therefore transmait wnv) so there’s a sfeik sfeika over here a safeik if it’s a female and if it is a female a safeik if it has wnv so you can’t kill it
July 20, 2015 2:51 pm at 2:51 pm #1092470HealthParticipantCA – if it lands on you, there is only one Safek.
July 20, 2015 3:15 pm at 3:15 pm #1092471DC MUTUMemberThe Rashbo holds in teshuvos (brought down by the Remo Yoreh Deoh Siman Kuf Yud and also see Chasam Sofer in Shitas Rashi Kesubos Beis) that if there is a way of finding out we don’t say sfek sfeika. Are there any signs if they are males or females?
July 20, 2015 3:25 pm at 3:25 pm #1092472Sam2Participantca: A Sfek Sfeka Le’esor B’pikuach Nefesh? Rachmana Litzlan.
Health: It would depend on how many carry WNV, probably. If I’m in Panama, though, it’s for sure Muttar.
See the Shulchan Aruch on trapping bees. According to the M”B it’s Muttar even if you know it’s not diseased. According to the Aruch HaShulchan, it might be Assur.

July 22, 2015 3:25 am at 3:25 am #1092476HealthParticipantCA – “health, why can’t a male rest on someone”

July 22, 2015 11:00 pm at 11:00 pm #1092477showjoeParticipantBS”D
