At a store.
They had boneless rib steak for 6.99
They had first cut brisket for 5.79
How could it be so cheap?
January 13, 2013 7:38 pm at 7:38 pm #920640rebdonielMemberYou think that’s cheap?
I am assuming these are per pound prices.
January 13, 2013 7:42 pm at 7:42 pm #920641popa_bar_abbaParticipantIt is very cheap for kosher meat.
January 13, 2013 7:42 pm at 7:42 pm #920642147ParticipantYou have exactly 1/2 year as of yesterday to consume this meat prior to the onset of the 9 days.
January 13, 2013 7:45 pm at 7:45 pm #920643The Best BubbyParticipantPopa_bar_abba: That is extremely cheap, so be a good person and tell us where you bought it so that others can have the bit of mazel to get cheaper meat!
Thank you.
January 13, 2013 7:46 pm at 7:46 pm #920644snowbunny3318Memberi think that is cheap even in the treif world (at least the rib steak)
January 13, 2013 7:52 pm at 7:52 pm #920645popa_bar_abbaParticipantSeasons in Queens.
January 13, 2013 8:08 pm at 8:08 pm #920646rebdonielMemberTheir kashrus is reliable. I never heard anything bad about it.

January 13, 2013 8:25 pm at 8:25 pm #920648popa_bar_abbaParticipantYes, of course their kashrus is reliable. I was kidding around in my first post. That is why I originally didn’t post the name of the store, so that people wouldn’t think I was serious. But then someone asked.

its about time that there are some stores with reasonable prices for kosher meat.
January 13, 2013 9:38 pm at 9:38 pm #920652snowbunny3318Memberunless someone helped you pay for it…

Better yet, ask Art Bell.
January 14, 2013 2:21 am at 2:21 am #920654MorahRachMemberCreepy, I was there today too. :-). And yes seasons usually had very cheap meat sales on Sundays and Mondays.
January 14, 2013 2:29 am at 2:29 am #920655yehudayonaParticipantIt’s Affordable Glatt, with OU hashgacha. It’s cheaper than Tevya’s Ranch. I’ve bought some of their meat and there was more waste on it than on other brands. Anybody know what country it comes from?
January 14, 2013 3:27 am at 3:27 am #920656☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantJust noticing the irony.
January 14, 2013 12:44 pm at 12:44 pm #920657squeakParticipantTevya’s Ranch? Why would you want to buy henpecked meat? It would ruin my appetite to see the beak marks.
January 14, 2013 2:04 pm at 2:04 pm #920658nitpickerParticipantirony? that’s not what I would call it.
clowns are incorrigible.
January 14, 2013 3:32 pm at 3:32 pm #920659☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSqueak, I’ve never had TR, I just know it’s cheaper than others. What do you mean “henpecked”?
Are you making a reference to Fiddler on the Roof?
January 14, 2013 5:14 pm at 5:14 pm #920660gavra_at_workParticipantArgentina?
January 15, 2013 2:33 pm at 2:33 pm #920661oomisParticipantTR meat is good. We have it in our local store, and I have not bought a bad cut yet.
January 15, 2013 2:49 pm at 2:49 pm #920662popa_bar_abbaParticipantI just ate it last night. I ate a rib steak because it cost like 2.50 each, and I ate a burger because I was dividing up the meat and freezing it and there was a lone burger that didn’t fit into any of the packages.
Both were excellent. Juicy and tender. With salt and pepper. And I put guacamole on my burger.
January 16, 2013 3:10 am at 3:10 am #920663rebdonielMemberI should get over there for those prices and stock up.
Even if I get 3 club steaks in a package for $8, that is worth it, as you’d pay at least $15 for each piece in a restaurant.
January 16, 2013 5:11 am at 5:11 am #920664estherhamalkaMemberI bought TR brick roast from Moishas this past Thurs for 5.79 lb and was wondering also why it was so cheap.
It was soft and fresh,so no complaints about quality.
January 16, 2013 6:06 am at 6:06 am #920665rebdonielMemberI saw the 3 steaks in a package from TR at Moisha’s for like $7 last week and they were very good; tender and nicely flavored. Granted, I braised them in sauce with red wine and ate them with papardelle and parve parmesan cheese, but still, the meat was top notch.
January 16, 2013 7:53 pm at 7:53 pm #920668apushatayidParticipantMake sure the meat isnt from ireland. their burgers are testing positive for horse dna.
January 17, 2013 3:41 pm at 3:41 pm #920669popa_bar_abbaParticipantrd: You seem like you really know your cooking. Here I just salted and peppered, and seared on a cast iron grill pan until about 130.
You need to post us some recipes. But pick easy ones, that we’ll be able to do.
