As of January 2015 it would be illegal to throw anything away in NYC. They have slowly phased out the sanitation department over the past few years. First nothing containing paper, wood. Then anything containing plastics and glass. Then anything metal. Now it’s anything electronic.

Which more or less means everything.

Whoops, no – potato peels. We can still throw away potato peels, as of now. I don’t want to give them any ideas, but for the time being, I think we could even get away without washing them out first.

To rid of your trash hurry out of NYC

Next is outlawing plastic garbage bags. We’ll have to make the bag out of potato peels.

Why would you need a garbage bag for some potato peels? Oh, I think I have one more – banana peels. They haven’t yet though of a method/ need to recycle them. So we can all go bananas!!

Sidi is right, having just been in Switzerland, they have garbage rules and garbage police, if you break the law, there is a 1000 frank fine

During the war my father A”H survived by eating the discarded potato peels from the russian army base.

I’m developing a machine to mash up all electronics into some unrecognizable mush – ready for NYC disposal.

Problem is – what happens when that machine breaks!!

Wondering why everyone is so against recycling…

    Oh

I read the rules it seems as though the NYC Department of Sanitation is trying to make it as hard as possible for anyone to ever recycle anything. There are so many good models for encouraging recycling worldwide why cant they just adopt one of them?
